NEET PG 2017 Results to be out on January 15, 2017

NEET PG 2017 Results are to be announced on January 15, 2017. The candidates who have appeared in NEET PG 2017 can access their result online on the official website of NEET for MD/ MG/ online PG diploma courses. The candidates appearing in the NEET PG must obtain a minimum percentile to qualify the examination and be eligible for NEET PG 2017 Counselling.

Along with the declaration of NEET PG Results, the examination authority also declares separate merit list for different categories. The NEET PG Results are valid in all states of India except Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Telangana).

NBE (National Board of Examination), the conducting body of NEET PG announces the NEET PG 2017 Results for the following types of admissions:

  • For admission to 50 % All India Quota Seats and State Quota Seats for MD/ MG/ PG diploma courses in all states, except Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
  • For admission to MD/ MS/ PG Diploma Courses in all Private Medical Colleges/ Institutions or Universities.
  • For admissions to PG medical courses in AFMS institutes.
  • For admission to DNB CET Board specialty courses (January 2017 session)

How to check NEET PG 2017 Result?

The candidates can check their NEET PG 2017 Result in the form of the scorecard. They can follow these steps to access their NEET PG Result.

  1. Go to the official website of NEET PG.
  2. You have to submit the following details- Confirmation no., Testing ID, and DOB
  3. Download and take a print out of the NEET PG 2017 Result.

Note: If the candidates experience any difficulty while downloading their score card they can contact for help at the following given numbers “1800111800 or 011-45593000” from Monday to Friday (9:30 am to 5:30 pm).

Validity of NEET PG 2017 Result

The NEET PG 2017 Result is valid for 2017 academic session of MS/MD/PG Diploma courses. The same results will not be applicable in the next academic session. The admission procedure through NEET-PG 2017 will be governed by the Medical Council of India (MCI) along with the approval of Central Government and the Supreme Court of India.

NEET PG 2017 Merit List

Besides the NEET PG 2017 Result, the National Board of Examination will also declare the NEET PG 2017 Merit List. The examination board prepares the NEET PG Merit List by considering the following factors:

  • All India NEET PG Rank: The total merit position
  • All India 50% quota rank:  The category ranks for OBC, SC and ST.
  • State quota/ Private medical colleges/ Deemed University/ AFMS rank
  • Also the candidates’ individual NEET PG 2017 Result.

NEET PG 2017 Tiebreaker

In a situation where two or more candidates have the same NEET PG 2017 scores then the examination board will use the following NEET PG 2017 Tie Breaker the candidate who is older in age is given the initial preference.

NEET PG 2017 Expected Cutoff

The NEET PG 2017 which is conducted in 86 exam centers located in 41 cities. In order to qualify the NEET PG 2017, the candidates must secure minimum marks. The minimum qualifying criteria also decide the eligibility of the candidates for NEET PG 2017 Counselling.

NEET PG 2017 Counselling

The Counseling of NEET PG is conducted to ultimately select the candidates for the available seats and finalize their admission. The NEET PG 2017 Counselling is conducted according to the following admission criteria.

  1. 50% All India Quota Seats:  Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) of India conducts the counseling under the 50% All India Quota seats.
  2. State Quota Seats: Counseling under the state quota seats is conducted by the concerned state authorities.
  3. Private medical colleges or institutes, universities or deemed universities: The counseling is conducted by the concerned institutional authorities according to their eligibility & reservation policies.
  4. Armed forces medical service institutions: General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), Ministry of Defense, Government of India conducts the counseling for armed forces.
  5. DNB broad specialty courses of January 2017 session: NBE conducts the counseling for admission to DNB Course.
