Odisha PG Medical Admission through NEET PG 2017

Admission of the candidates to the medical courses such as Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) in the state of Odisha will be done on the basis of NEET PG 2017 scores. The admission will be strictly done on the ranking of aspirants.

NEET PG 2017 examination was conducted on December 5 to 13, 2016. It is a national level examination which is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE). The application forms regarding Odisha PG Medical 2017 will be available from February 20, 2017 to March 1, 2017.

All the NEET PG 2017 qualified candidates are called for counselling sessions so that they get admission to various postgraduate medical courses offered by institutes of Odisha. Applicants are advised to first register themselves for the counselling.

Candidate’s seats will be reserved according to their ranking in the examination. However, 50% state quota seats and 50% all India quota seats will be provided on the basis of NEET PG 2017 scores. Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should check the following eligibility criteria before start applying:

Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must have completed MBBS course or equivalent from any MCI recognised institutions.
  • Candidate must also complete one year of rotating internship on or before March 31, 2017.
  • General category candidate must score minimum 50% of marks in NEET PG 2017.
  • Reserved category must obtain minimum 40% of marks in NEET PG 2017.
  • General category candidate with PH Disability must secure minimum 45% of marks in NEET PG 2017.


  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  • If the candidate is from another state then they must have passed MBBS from any government medical college of Odisha.
  • Applicant must be children of a person who served Odisha state for a minimum of 5 years by March 31, 2017.


The seats are distributed among in-service and direct candidates on basis of 50: 50. The total number of postgraduate seats is 220.

Counselling Procedure

The Odisha PG Medical Counselling 2017 will be held in the month of April, 2017 tentatively. The counselling will be conducted through offline mode only.

  • To participate in the counselling candidates need to register in the official website of DMET i.e. “”.
  • Candidate must also attend document verification session. If the candidates are unable to appear then they have to send any authorised person along with authorization letter of the candidate.
  • Candidates need to submit non-refundable counselling fees of INR 2500/- in favour of “Convenor PG (Medical) Counselling Committee” payable at Brahmapur from any SBI.
  • If candidates resign after admission and before counselling then 90% of admission fee will be returned and 10% retained as processing fees.
  • Candidates are advised to appear for the counselling on time at the specific date and at a particular venue.

Following is the list of documents that candidates need to bring at Odisha PG Medical 2017 counselling:

  1. Internship completion certificate or certificate from institutional Head indicating completion of internship by March 31, 2017.
  2. Permanent of provisional registration certificate issued by MCI or state medical council.
  3. OBC certificate issued by competent authority. These candidates should not belong to creamy layer (if applicable).
  4. ID proof at the time of admission
  5. NEET PG Scorecard.

Odisha PG Medical 2017: Category of Applicants

Two categories of candidates i.e. Direct and In-Service will be provided admission to Odisha PG Medical Admission 2017. The explanation of both the categories are as follows:

Direct Applicant: These are those candidates who at the time of admission are either unemployed or under unemployment of government of Odisha but they have not completed their 3 years of service which includes employment like contractual/ temporary/ ad-hoc/  regular by March 31, 2017.

In-Service Applicant: These are the candidates who are under employment in Government of Odisha and has completed 3 years of service by March 31, 2017 excluding 30 days of stretch leave or more.

Odisha PG Medical 2017: Merit List

Merit list of Odisha PG Medical Admission 2017 will be tentatively declared in the 2nd week of March, 2017. The List will be prepared by the admission committee of Directorate of Medical Admission and Training after the document verification process. the Merit list will be prepared separately for Direct and In-Service candidates. Seats will be allocated according to the candidates rank in the merit list.

Admission Procedure

Interested candidates can get application form regarding Odisha PG Medical Admission 2017 on February 20, 2017. Application forms will be available only through online mode. Document verification is also important for admission to the medical course which will be done from March 6 to 8, 2017. Document verification of In-Service candidates will be done from March 9 to 10, 2017.

  • Candidates need to follow the below steps for admission to the particular course:
  • Candidates can download the online application form from the official website of DMET.
  • Before filling online application form candidates need to register themselves with valid email ID and password.
  • After registration candidates start filling the online application form by entering their personal details.
  • After that candidate needs to upload the scanned image of photograph and signature.
  • Then candidates need to select their category from Direct or In – Service category.
  • Candidates need to pay the examination fees of amount INR 1500 through SBI Demand Draft in favour of “DMET, Odisha Entrance Examination Fees” payable at Bhubaneshwar. The fee is non-refundable.

  1. Valid photo ID issued by the state or central government.
  2. Domicile Certificate
  3. 10th and 12th standard certificate
  4. MBBS Degree certificate
  5. Internship certificate or tentative completion certificate

  8. Defense certificate (if applicable)
  9. Service certificate from CDMO or appropriate authority
  10. Sponsoring letter from appropriate authority
