NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims were conducted on November 26 and 27, 2016. The candidates who qualify the prelims will be eligible to apply for IBPS Clerk Mains. Candidates who appeared for the exam on both the days did not find the exam difficult. Questions in English Language and Reasoning Ability section were of moderate difficulty level. Only a few questions from the Quantitative Ability section were difficult. Those who get 70 or more than 70 answers correct can qualify for the Main Examination.
The other 2 sessions of the exam will be conducted on December 3 and 4, 2016. The exam is to be conducted in more than 90 exam centers in India. Approximately 24 lac students will be appearing for the exam. IBPS (Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection) has invited applications for 19,243 Clerical Cadre posts in 19 participating banks. The exam conducted on Nov 26 and 27 was of one hour, and the question paper was divided into 3 sections. Each section had 30-35 questions.
IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims question paper consisted of 100 multiple choice questions, in which 35 questions each were from Reasoning ability and Numerical ability while 30 questions were from English Language. Each question carried one mark, and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
On November 26, the question papers of all the slots were easy, students who had prepared according to the IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern and Syllabus thoroughly can expect a good result. Many candidates were even able to attempt all the questions due to the moderate level of the examination. The topics from which the questions were asked in each section are as follows:

On November 27, candidates felt reasoning ability and English Language sections were easy while the quantitative ability section was a bit tough. IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims of both the days were of moderate difficulty level. So, there are 70-75% chances that most of the candidates will qualify for the main examination of IBPS Clerk 2016. Note: Language problems which include Profit and Loss, Average, Boats and Streams, CI/SI, Time and Work, Average, Ratio and Proportion, Partnership and Percentage etc. are some of the other topics from which nearly 15 questions were asked in IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims.
After this, two more slots remain to appear for IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims which will be conducted on December 3 and 4, 2016. Completion of prelims will determine the cutoff of IBPS Clerk Prelims, in which the candidates who score minimum cutoff marks will be able to give the IBPS Clerk 2016 Mains. The IBPS Clerk Result will be declared in the second week of December and the Mains are scheduled to be conducted on December 31, 2016 and January 1, 2017. There will be no interview for the clerical posts and the provisional allotments to the participating banks will be done in the month of April 2017.
Considering the level of difficulty of the exam, overall cutoff of IBPS Clerk 2016 Prelims is expected to be high.
