SSC JE 2017 March 1 (Morning Shift) Answer Key, Question Paper & Analysis

SSC JE paper I has been successfully conducted on March 01, 2017.  It was conducted for the post of Junior Engineers in various government departments. The overall level of the paper was moderate to difficult. The paper comprised three sections i.e. General Reasoning, General Awareness and Technical questions. It consisted of 200 questions and was objective in nature. The total duration of the examination was two hours. Each question carried one mark. There was negative marking of 0.25 mark for wrong answers. Candidates can check the SSC JE answer key for morning shift in this article.

SSC JE Answer Key & Question Paper

The answer key will be updated soon once it is available. With the help of answer key, they can analyze their exam performance and can calculate their marks. The answer key of SSC JE will be taken into consideration for preparing the result of paper I. SSC JE Paper I was compulsory for all the candidates and those who qualify paper I will only be allowed to go for paper II exam. Candidates can even challenge the answers in the answer key. The challenges against the SSC JE answer key will be referred to the committees constituted by the SSC for this purpose.

General Reasoning/ General Intelligence

This section included both verbal and non-verbal questions and consisted of 50 questions in the exam. The questions were based on similarities, differences, space visualization, analysis, judgement, basic mathematics, verbal and figure classification etc. The difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate. This section designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and other analytical functions. Candidates found this section was easier to score and less time-consuming. General Awareness

In this section, the questions were designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation. This section also consisted of 50 questions. The previous year paper and the practice paper can enable you to attempt more than 35 questions easily. The questions from Geography, Economics and history topics covered most of the part in this section.

Technical Section

This section was divided in three sections which are Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Candidates had to attempt only one section as they applied for. This section consisted of 100 questions. Here, we are discussing analysis of all the three section as given below.

Civil Engineering – The questions were based on Civil Engineering syllabus. The questions were asked from building materials, costing and valuation, environmental engineering, hydraulics, irrigation, soil mechanics, surveying and transportation topics. The questions asked in structural part involved concrete technology, RCC design, steel design, theory of structures etc.

Electrical Engineering – All of the questions covered from the topics as specified in Electrical engineering syllabus. The questions range on the topics such as basic concepts of electronics, AC fundamentals, circuit law, electrical machines, estimation and costing, generation, magnetic circuit, measurement and measuring systems, transmission, utilization and electrical energy and synchronous machines.

Mechanical Engineering – The questions from this section pertaining to Mechanical Engineering Syllabus. The questions in this section were on a wide range of topics including boilers, classification, strength of materials, IC engines, properties of pure substances, 1st and 2nd law of thermodynamics, fluids, statics, measurement of fluid pressure, kinematics etc.
