    SSC JE Mechanical Syllabus consists of three sections namely- General Aptitude, General Awareness and General Engineering. Syllabus for SSC JE Mechanical will be of graduation level. Questions on topics studied throughout the Mechanical Engineering course will be asked in the exam. The detailed syllabus is mentioned in this article.

    • SSC JE Syllabus for General Intelligence and Reasoning includes questions to test the aptitude of the candidate. It includes topics based on basic mathematics, analogies, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.

    SSC JE (Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineers) examination is organized by SSC (Staff Selection Commission). It is a portal through which aspirants are recruited for the post of Junior Engineers, Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts by the Commission. Aspirants must have a bachelor degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering to eligible to apply for SSC JE exam.

    SSC JE Quick Pattern

    SSC JE consists of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The first stage – Paper 1, will be an objective type exam while Paper 2 will be a conventional subjective type exam.

    • Paper 1 in SSC JE comprises 3 sections- General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering.
    • Paper 2 comprises 3 sections out of which candidate must attempt one.
    • Aspirants can choose from 3 subjects- Civil, Mechanical and Electrical for both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
    • The total obtainable marks in Paper 1 are 200 and for Paper 2 are 300.
    • Negative marking will be applicable in this exam.

    SSC JE Exam Pattern 2019

    SSC JE will comprise of 2 papers. Paper 1 will be an online, objective test. Those aspirants who qualify Paper 1 will be eligible to appear for Paper 2. The detailed exam pattern for both papers is mentioned below.

    SSC JE Exam Pattern for Paper 1 

    • Paper 1 is a computer-based test i.e. the mode of the paper will be online.
    • It will consist of objective type questions (MCQs).
    • The paper will be divided into 3 sections- General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and General Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical).
    • The total number of questions asked will be 200, 50 on the General Intelligence and Awareness section and 100 questions on general engineering section
    • Each question carries 1 mark and total obtainable marks are 200.
    • For every wrong answer, 1/4th mark will be deducted from the total score.
    • The duration of the test will be 2 hours.

    • Paper 2 is a written, descriptive type exam.
    • Aspirants who qualify Paper 1 will qualify to appear for Paper 2.
    • They must choose their field of study from Civil, Mechanical and Electrical engineering.
    • The total obtainable marks for this paper will be 300 and the duration of the exam will be 2 hours.

    SSC JE Mechanical Syllabus for Aptitude and General Awareness

    • General Intelligence and Reasoning- This section will determine the candidate’s ability to answer questions based on Data Interpretation, Blood relations, Analogy, Syllogisms, Series and sequences, Logical reasoning, etc.
    • General Awareness- This section aims to evaluate the General Awareness of the applicant. It comprises of current affairs as well as economics and business affairs of the country, schemes launched by Government, Indian Polity, History, Geography, Science and Technology, Sports etc.
