UGC NET 2019 Cut Off score is the minimum qualifying marks required to be considered eligible for the JRF and Assistant Professor position. CBSE has ear-marked the minimum qualifying marks both general and reserved category candidates at 40% aggregate in both the papers.
However, candidates should bear in mind that just scoring the minimum qualifying marks does not ensure qualification in UGC NET but ensures a position in the Merit List. UGC NET Merit List will be prepared both Subject-wise as well as Category-wise.
The UGC NET minimum qualifying marks for different categories are tabulated below:
|Category||Minimum Qualifying Marks|
|Paper 1||Paper 2|
|General||40 (40%)||40 (40%)|
|OBC/ PWD/ SC/ ST||35 (35%)||35 (35%)|
For the purpose of preparing the Merit List for UGC NET 2019, the aggregate score secured in all three papers by each individual candidate is taken into consideration. A separate merit list for Junior Research Fellowship will be released from amongst these qualified candidates using the following formula:
|Number of positions vacant in General category for JRF in a subject equals to||Number of candidates who have opted for JRF and are qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor in that subject X Number of positions available under General category Divided by (÷) Total Number of General candidates who have opted for JRF and are qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor|
Note: A similar formula is used for all the categories and subjects.
Please note that only the top 6% candidates (for each subject and category) from the merit list will be shortlisted for Assistant Professor position.
