Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the official notification for CGL Exam each year. The online test for tier I is tentatively scheduled from August 01 – August 20, 2019.  So, now the main confusion in the mind of most aspirants is “How to prepare for SSC CGL TIER I?”. SSC CGL comprises 4 levels (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4).

  • Interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution.

SSC CGL Tier I Exam Pattern

SSC CGL Tier I examination is a computer-based examination and will be divided into 4 main constituents namely:

  1. General Intelligence Reasoning
  2. General Awareness
  3. Quantitative Aptitude
  4. English Comprehension

Some of the important highlights of SSC CGL Tier I Exam Pattern are discussed below

  • Each of the constituent will consist of 25 questions
  • All the questions are in MCQ (multiple choice questions) with 4 options
  • 2 marks are awarded for every correct answer
  • ½ is deducted for every incorrect response
  • Duration of tier I is reduced from 75 minutes to 60 minutes this year
  • Question Paper will be set in both Hindi and English medium
