NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) declare the results of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 2 Examination 2016 on its official website. Candidates can check their result online on ssc.nic.in.
The commission conducted the CGL Tier 2 exam from November 30 to December 2, 2016, and held the re-examination on January 12 and 13, 2017. It will conduct the CGL Tier 3 Examination, 2016 on March 19.
Candidates can check their result online on SSC website through following steps: -
1. Visit SSC official website.
2. Go to the Results tab
3. Click on the notification link- Combined Graduate Level Examination Result.
4. A Pdf file containing CGL Results will be displayed.
5. Type your roll number in the search box to check your SSC CGL Result
6. The list will contain names of qualified candidates who are eligible for taking Tier 3 exam scheduled on March 19, 2017.

Since the SSC CGL 2016 exam is held in three tiers, so result is also declared separately. However, after declaration of results of all the tiers, they are compiled together to form a combined single result.
SSC CGL Tier 3 will be descriptive test. As it is introduced first from this year candidates are very apprehensive about it. The test will be of 100 marks and candidates will be given 60 minutes to complete it. The syllabus includes precis, essay writing, comprehension.
SSC CGL cut off is separately announced for each tier. Candidates need to score minimum marks as decided the Commission in Tier 1 to get qualified for Tier 2. In the following table, SSC CGL tier 1 cut off is represented.
There are some factors which affect the SSC CGL Cutoff. There is not a single reason which make cutoff vary. Some of the reason given below also become the reason due to which cutoff vary.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Merit List 2016 will be published based on the number of marks obtained in the written test. Only the candidate will be selected who will secure cut off marks or higher. Minimum mark required to pass the exam for general candidate is 55%, 53% for OBC candidate, 48% for SC candidate and 47% for ST applicant. Those who will be selected in the merit list will be called for interview. Candidates will be notified of the viva schedule after written result.

SSC (Staff Selection Commission) has changed the pattern of SSC CGL Selection Procedure 2016. Selection procedure will be done on the basis of four stages Tier 1, Tier 2 which are computer based test and Tier 3 which is a descriptive paper and Tier 4 is about Data Entry Skill. Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 are compulsory for all candidates whereas Tier 4 is compulsory for the post of Assistant Section Officer and Tax Assistant. However, the candidates will need to clear all the Tiers i.e. Tier-I, II & III separately. The Final Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the collective result of the applicant’s in Tier-I, II, III.
