NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
RRB NTPC Mains was successfully held between January 17-19, 2017 to fill 18,252 Posts. Railway Recruitment Board conducted RRB NTPC Mains exam in three shifts of 90 minutes’ duration on each day. This year, almost 17 lakh candidates from all over India appeared in RRB NTPC Mains Exam 2017 at different examination centres. The article will give you a comprehensive analysis of the RRB NTPC Mains for the exam that was held on January 17, 2017.
RRB NTPC Exam 2017 is conducted in two stages. The RRB NTPC 2017 Mains Exam has been arranged only for those candidates who have qualified in 1st Stage Online Exam. The examination is conducted online (Computer Based) for Railway recruitment of candidates against various vacancies.
This year, the question paper comprised of 120 Objective type/Multiple Choice Questions covering the 3 sections in total. The Exam Paper was of moderate/average level. The duration of the exam was 1 hour and 30 minutes i.e. 90 minutes.

Note: It should be noted that there is a provision of negative marking in the question paper. For every incorrect answer, 1/3rd mark will be deducted from the total marks obtained by the candidate. Candidate thus should not make any random guesses while solving the question paper.
Each section of the question paper should be attempted carefully and with full dedication as the merit list will be prepared on the basis of the overall performance in all the sections.

From the table, it is clear that the “General Awareness” section carries maximum number of questions and thus, requires more focus followed by the rest three sections.
The Railway Recruitment Board prefers to shortlist candidates qualifies in each section of the paper. Candidates who manage to get the minimum specified marks in all the sections, will be awarded first priority in the merit list. Candidates who are likely to secure more than 75% marks in the RRB NTPC Mains Exam 2017, have the maximum chances of selection.
RRB calls for various posts or vacancies through the direct recruitment and competitive examinations every year. Candidates are selected for different posts on the basis of Written Exam and Interview. Candidates can apply for the available vacancies in RRB Recruitment through the online mode, by filling and submitting the complete RRB online application form. The form must be submitted along with the application fee and important documents before the last date. Candidates can download the form from the official website i.e. www.rrbcdg.gov.in.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list prepared by the committee nominated for the purpose. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidate’s performance in the RRB NTPC Mains Exam followed by the other stages of selection. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria to be able to appear in the test. There is a relaxation in the minimum percentage of marks for SC/ST/Ex. Service Man/PWD candidates.
