NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
UPSC has released the civil services preliminary examination official notification at www.upsc.gov.in. As per the official notification, candidates have to submit the UPSC application form by March 17, 2017. Aspiring candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria before filling up the application form. The prelims exam is also known as CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test). UPSC conducts civil services examination to fill administration seats in All India and Central India services. UPSC 2017 will be held for filling up approximately 980 seats. UPSC has also announced the prelims and mains 2017 exam date, it will be held on June 18, 2017 while the UPSC mains exam is scheduled for October 10, 2017.

The required eligibility to apply for UPSC Recruitment 2017 are listed below:
Age Limit – The upper age limit for general category is 32 years, 35 years for OBC candidates and 37 years for SC/ST candidates. The age limit will be calculated as on August 01, 2017.
Attempt Limit – The general category candidates will be permitted six attempts at the examination. The number of attempts for OBC category is nine till 35 years of age while it is unlimited for SC/St category.

The application fee is INR-100 for general/OBC candidates. SC/ST/PH category candidates are exempted from application fee.
UPSC preliminary comprises two objective papers. Each paper will carry 200 marks. Candidates need to solve the paper in two hours. Paper I consist of 100 questions with general knowledge and current affairs topics. Paper II consist of 80 questions with following topics such as numerical, data interpretation, logical reasoning, communication ability etc. UPSC has a provision of negative marking. One-third marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. The qualified candidates in UPSC 2017 prelims will go for UPSC 2017 mains examination.
