UPSC Recruitment 2018: For The Post of Translator and Assistant Director Safety

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) has invited applications for the positions of Translator and Assistant Director Safety. The positions offered are based on permanent induction of candidates and they belong to Group ‘A’, gazetted and non-ministerial level posts.  All the interested candidates need to apply on the official site of UPSC, upsconline.nic.in before March 15, 2017. The last date to take printout of the online application form is on or before March 16, 2018. All the details regarding number of vacancies, eligibility criteria for each post and selection process is discussed at length below. Candidates will be selected for the above-mentioned posts on the basis of personal interview round.

UPSC is yet to announce any details for schedule or venue of interview round. The same will be intimated on the official website of commission after closing of application form window.

Eligibility Criteria and Vacancy Details

The eligibility criteria for each post along with the number of vacancies and pay scale is tabulated below for reference of candidates.

Note:

  • Post no. 2 and 3 are reserved for Other Backward Classes & Scheduled Tribe candidates.
  • The age limit shown against all items is the normal age limit and upper age limit age is relaxable for SC/ST candidates upto 5 years and upto 3 years for OBC candidates in respect of vacancies reserved for them.
  • SC/ST/OBC Candidates have to produce a caste certificate in prescribed proforma to claim age relaxation and other reservation.

Application Procedure

Candidates can check the steps below to apply for post of Translator and Assistant Director Safety. Before starting the procedure, applicants must be ready with a scanned copy of a photograph and signature with given specifications.

  • Visit the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
  • Click on “Online Recruitment Application (ORA) for Various Recruitment Posts”.
  • Click on “New Registration”.
  • Fill the details and submit the form.
  • Next, fill the personal profile, contact details, age relaxation if applicable.
  • Fill the details related to Qualification, Experience, Professional Registration, Language, Miscellaneous Module.
  • Select the Recruitment Test Centre.
  • Now upload documents in Document Upload Module.
  • Upload the photograph & signature.
  • Candidates must pay fee using Internet banking facility in SBI or other associated banks or through Visa/ Master Debit or Credit card issued by any Bank/ Institution.
  • Transaction ID & Date of Registration details will upload automatically.
  • In case of offline payment, candidate need to pay the cash at any branch of State Bank of India through the Pay-in-Slip.
  • Through transaction ID, revisit the website and click on the “Click here to view your Previous/ Currently active applications”.
  • Now fill the details of transaction ID and Date of Transaction (for cash fee payments only).
  • Finally, take the printout of online application.

Important Documents Required for Applying

  1. Applicants can apply for the given posts through the website, www.upsconline.nic.in.
  2. Given below are the documents which should be uploaded on the website while applying:
  • Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate indicating date of birth, or the mark sheet issued by Central/State Board indicating Date of Birth in support of claim of age.
  • Degree/Diploma certificate as proof of educational qualification claimed.
  • Order/letter specifying the candidate being the part of the organization from where the education is being claimed.
  • Certificate from the head of the institution mentioning basic and consolidated salary. The certificate must mention the nature of duties, experience and duration. The certificate must be submitted in the prescribed format.
  • Caste certificate of the applicant who belongs to SC/ST/OBC.
  • A declaration is required in the given format by the candidate seeking reservation as OBC.
  • Physically handicapped applicant must provide the certificate for appointment to the post based on prescribed standards of Medical Fitness.
  • A documentary to show any other claim made.
  1. If any candidate wants to apply for more than one post, then one has to apply separately for both posts.
  2. After submitting ORA, one must take the print out of the final application.

Candidates shortlisted for the interview must send the self-attested copies of the certificates claimed to the commission as and when required.

For Interview

Candidate must present the duly filled online application, stipulated documents along with self-attested copies at the time of interview. Apart from that,

  • Matriculation or 10th pass certificate indication the age of the applicant.
  • Degree/Diploma certificate along with all the marksheet indicating the educational proofs.
  • Order/ letter for the claim against equivalent claimed, indicating the Authority, in respect of equivalent clause in essential qualifications if a candidate is claiming a qualification as equivalent qualification as per the requirement of advertisement.
  • Certificate from the head of the institution mentioning basic and consolidated salary. The certificate must mention the nature of duties, experience and duration. The certificate must be submitted in the prescribed format.
  • Cast certificate for seeking reservation.
  • Physically handicapped applicant must provide the certificate for appointment to the post based on prescribed standards of Medical Fitness.
  • In case, the candidate who claims the name change after matriculation must produce the following documents:
  1. Marriage of women- Photocopy of husband’s passport and a joint photograph sworn before oath commissioner
  2. Re-marriage of women- Divorce/Death certificate and photocopy of present husband’s passport and a joint photograph sworn before oath commissioner
  3. Divorce of women- Certified copy of Divorce Decree and Deed Poll/Affidavit duly sworn before the Oath Commissioner
  4. Change of name of both men and women- Affidavit sworn by oath commissioner, 2 clippings of leading newspaper along with gazette notification
  • Valid documents for claiming age-relaxation for different categories must be provided in requisite format.
