NATIONAL LEVEL OFFLINE TEST
NTSE stage II is scheduled for May 14, 2017 on a national level. The exam will be conducted in different languages viz. English, Gujarati, Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi, Malayalam, Oriya, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, and Urdu. Earlier, NTSE Stage-I examination was conducted by the States and Union Territories in November, 2016. Candidates shortlisted from Stage I will appear only in NTSE Stage II.
NTSE Stage II question paper is divided into 3 sections i.e. MAT (Mental Ability Test), SAT (Scholastic Ability Test), and Language Test. Candidates have to hone their time management skill to qualify the NTSE Stage-II paper. Overall, stage II is slightly more difficult with questions designed to test the conceptual clarity and understanding of various topics and core concepts form Class 9th and Class 10th syllabus.
SAT section of the examination could be easily attempted by simply following the CBSE syllabus of Class 9th and 10th. NTSE Stage-II question paper is divided into 3 sections to attempt. The paper has 200 multiple choice objective type questions of total 200 marks, 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be awarded or deducted for the unanswered questions.

The syllabus of NTSE Stage-II is similar to the syllabus of Class X as prescribed by CBSE. Candidates must consider the NCERT books of Class XI and X for the detailed syllabus.
