Karnataka NTSE 2018: Question Paper, Answer Key, Result, Cut-Off

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE 2018) was held on November 5, 2017and the results were announced for NTSE stage 1 on February 3, 2018.

The Department of State Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has the sole authority to the

  • Delivery of State-level NTSE Stage I test
  • Release of Answer Key
  • Evaluation of Test
  • Publishing of Results and
  • Cut-off Score
  • Result declaration of Candidates qualified for stage II

Karnataka NTSE exam comprises of 3 papers i.e. Mental Ability Test (MAT), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and Language Comprehension Test (LCT). Only MAT and SAT decides the final score of the candidate while LCT is just to qualify. It does not play any role in the final score of the exam.

The Test is conducted to identify the potential students amongst class 10th in order to reward them with Scholarships and other Financial Assistance in different levels of their higher education.

Karnataka NTSE 2017- 18 Question Paper

There are 3 papers which come into the category of NTSE stage I. Question paper contains 3 sections which Mental Ability Test (MAT), Language Comprehension Test (LCT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Correct responses by the candidates will award them 1 mark. There is no provision of negative marking in the 1st stage of NTSE Exam.

The Answer key is released by the officials conducting the exam a few days after the exam is held on its official website.

Karnataka NTSE 2017-18 Result

Candidates can download their score cards from the official website of SCERT by filling their roll number. Here are the steps to guide you through the result download process:

  • Log onto the official website of SCERT
  • Click on the NTSE RESULTS option from the notice board on the home page.
  • Fill in your roll number. Your result will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download and save it for the future use.

Your score card will furnish following details-

  • Candidates’ Name
  • Candidates’ Roll No.
  • Candidates’ School Name
  • Candidates’ Gender, Category & Physical Disability (if any)
  • Sectional Marks Secured in by candidates in LCT, MAT, & SAT
  • Total Score (MAT and SAT Marks taken together)
  • Rank Secured

Karnataka NTSE Cut-off 2017-18

The minimum score required by the candidate to qualify the examination is known as cut off. There are several factors that affect the cutoff. Some of the factors are as follows-

  • Number of Students Attempting the Paper
  • Previous Year cutoff trends
  • Difficulty level of examination
