Meghalaya NTSE 2018: Question Paper, Answer Key, Result, Cut-Off

NTSE Meghalaya Stage 1 examination was conducted on November 4, 2017. Stage 1 results were declared on February 2, 2018. The Stage 2 examination will be held by NCERT on May 13, 2018. Meghalaya NTSE 2017-2018 Stage 1 examination is conducted by the Department of Educational Research & Training (DERT), Shillong. DERT’s primary objectives are to review and revise curriculum, design the syllabus, preparation of textbooks and so on. Check Here Meghalaya NTSE 2017-2018 Result Format

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholarship examination for class X appearing students. NTSE exam is held in 2 stages. Stage 1 involves State-Level NTSE where various State Councils of Educational Research Training (SCERT) conduct the exam and Stage 2 is conducted by National-level by the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training), New Delhi. About 1000 scholarships are awarded every year. From Meghalaya, the NTSE scholarship quota is 25 candidates as per NCERT norms who can appear for Stage 2 examination at the National level. Meghalaya NTSE 2017-2018 Question Paper

NTSE stage 1 written examination consists of 3 papers:

  • Paper 1 - Mental Ability Test (MAT)
  • Paper 2 - Language Test (LT): English or Hindi.
  • Paper 3 - Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

There are some modifications made to the Stage 2 examination which is to be held on May 13, 2018, in respect of the number of questions, testing papers, negative marking, and time allotted for testing. The details are as follows:

New updates for Meghalaya NTSE 2018 Stage 2 examination

  • There will be no negative marking.
  • Language aptitude paper is not included in the exam.

Meghalaya NTSE 2017-2018 Answer Key

NCERT has released the stage 1 answer key officially which can be downloaded from the official  website. The answer key was made available by the NCERT officials a few days after the exam. Meghalaya NTSE 2017-2018 Result Format

Meghalaya Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) published the NTSE results at their website which contained the list of candidates who were selected to appear in the Stage 2 examination.

The result contained the following sections:

  • Candidates’ Name
  • Candidates’ Roll No.
  • Candidates’ School Name
  • Candidates’ Gender, Category & Physical Disability (if any)
  • Sectional Marks Secured in by candidates in LCT, MAT, & SAT
  • Total Score (MAT and SAT Marks taken together)
  • Rank Secured

Candidates need to validate their scores and report to ntsexam.ncert@gov.in in case of any issues with the scores obtained by them.

The candidate names eligible for scholarships will be posted on the official website category-wise: General, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes.


Meghalaya NTSE 2017-2018 Cut- Off Scores

Cut-Off Score is the minimum score that candidates are required to secure in NTSE Stage I to qualify for Stage II national-level exam. These scores are dependent on several factors like the total number of candidates appearing for the test, level of difficulty of the question paper, previous year’s cut-off scores etc.

The cut off for NTSE 2017-18 has been released. The minimum cut-off mark which a candidate should score in all the three papers: MAT, SAT, and LC is 40% for General category and 32% for SC, ST, and PH categories. This minimum NTSE 2018 cut-off score must be met by a candidate to sit for the Stage 2 examination.
