LPUNEST(MBA/PGDM) Verbal Ability Preparation Tips

LPUNEST 2017 will be conducted online from April 10, 2017 to April 30, 2017, across various cities of India.

This Verbal Ability section is one which cannot be prepared by just going through some random book. You need to go for the eclectic reading habits that will indeed help you go a long way.

The Goal of Test Preparation

The main goal when preparing for the test should not be to achieve a high score but instead focus on improving your skills. The preparation must be in such a way that there is no confusion left for examination.

Verbal Ability, is one of the most asked section being covered in major MBA/PGDM entrances including CAT, MAT and LPUNEST. Thus, making the concepts clear at starting level is of more use rather than leaving it for last minute preparation.

If the concepts of grammar involving noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, articles are prepared thoroughly, you have a very high chance to ace the Verbal Ability Section in LPUNEST. It will not even help you answer questions correctly and well before time but also provide you auxiliary time for remaining sections. So, prepare as if you have to keep each and every point in mind till you study.

Topic wise preparation of LPUNEST Verbal Ability

In this 2-3 questions of Synonyms/Antonyms are asked which you must practice and have command on and this will only be possible if you have a proper routine of learning 20-30 words daily or you read novels, newspapers, and magazines more often.

Cloze Test

This will include the fill in the blanks type questions. The blanks can be 2 or just 1. Again your vocabulary will help you here.

This includes various topics like nouns, pronouns, verbs, articles, adjectives etc. You need to have command on these topics which will be used in every type of question asked in English.

Practice as many mock tests, previous year papers as you can and check the answers after you finish the paper and find the errors where you got wrong. This will help you correct your mistake and will help you remember the same error which you will not repeat the next time.

Give time to the topics you think you are weak in. Practice them well and know where you have issue in that particular topic.

Rest, this section needs much preparation by reading newspapers, magazines, novels. If you have a habit of reading these you can grab maximum score in Verbal Ability as this section is widely examined in MBA Entrance Exam and can help you score higher rank if well prepared with good vocabulary.
