JEECE 2019 or Jharkhand Engineering Entrance Competitive Examination is an annual state-level undergraduate engineering entrance exam conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Exam Board (JCECEB). Applicants who qualify JEECE 2019 can seek admission to B. Tech/B. E. programs in various colleges in Jharkhand. The official notification for JEECE 2019 will be released by JCECEB in due course. In this article, we discuss the salient features of the entrance test, on the basis of past trends:

  • JEECE 2019 is expected to be held in May 2019.
  • JEECE Application Form 2019 will be available tentatively in April 2019 on the official website, www.jceceb.nic.in
  • A minimum aggregate score of 45% (40% for reserved category candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 10+2 or equivalent examination is required to be eligible to apply for JEECE 2019.
  • Applicants also need to be permanent residents of Jharkhand to be able to apply for the entrance test.
  • Application Fee for JEECE 2019 is expected to be INR 900 (INR 450 for reserved categories and female candidates).
  • JEECE is an offline, paper-based exam comprising of 150 objective-type bilingual questions (English and Hindi) that needs to be completed in 3 hours. Check JEECE Exam Pattern
  • Each correct answer carries +1 mark while for every incorrect answer, 0.25 mark is deducted. Questions not attempted are not evaluated.
  • Candidates can download their respective JEECE Admit Card one or two weeks prior to the exam.

JEECE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility conditions of JEECE 2019 are listed below. Applicants are advised to study the conditions carefully before applying for the entrance test.

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens and either local or permanent residents of the state of Jharkhand. Residential Certificate in appropriate format issued by the competent authority has to be presented in original as proof at the time of counselling.
  • No upper age limit is specified by JCECEB for applicants of JEECE. However, the minimum age required to apply for the same is 17 years.
  • Applicants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized Board/University, with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects. Applicants appearing for the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply for JEECE 2019
  • Applicants should have secured at least 45% in the aggregate score (40% for reserved categories) in the qualifying exam.
  • Applicants need to undergo a medical examination, organized by JCECEB for being considered eligible for admission into B.E. / B. Tech programs under JEECE 2019.

JEECE 2019 Application Form

JEECE 2019 Application Form will be available in the online mode at the official website. There are no means of applying for the entrance test in offline mode. The Application Forms are expected to be available in April 2019. The steps involved in the application process is elaborated below:

  1. Visit the official website of JEECE 2019 www.jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in”.
  2. Click on the ‘Online Application’ Link.
  3. Register with details like Applicant’s Name, Date of Birth, Email ID.
  4. A registration Number and Password will be auto-generated upon completion of the registration process.
  5. Proceed to login with the auto-generated registration number and password and complete filling the JEECE 2019 Application form with all the required details.
  6. Upload scanned images of applicants’ recent passport-size colour photograph, specimen signature, and left-thumb impression. All images should be in .jpeg format and the file size of applicants’ photograph should not be more than 100 KB while the specimen signature and thumb impression should be within 50KB each.
  7. Applicants can now make the application fee payment online through the integrated payment gateway using either Net Banking or Credit/Debit Cards.
  8. Preview the filled-in Application Form and check for any mistakes in the details before submitting the same finally. Applicants are advised to obtain prints of the completed Application Form for future references.

Please note that applicants need not send hard copies of the completed application form to JCECEB after successfully submitting the same online.

JEECE 2019 Application Fee

The expected application fee for JCEECE 2019, based on previous year’s trend, is expected to be INR 900 (INR 450 for SC/ST candidates and female candidates). The fee details are tabulated below for better understanding:

JEECE 2019 Admit Card

Applicants who have submitted the Online Application Form complete in all respects along with the requisite fees will be issued the JEECE 2019 Admit Card. The same has to be downloaded from the official website. Please note that there are no other means of accessing the document other than downloading from the website.

JEECE 2019 Admit Card will be available online, a couple of weeks prior to the scheduled exam date. Details like Applicant’s name, Registration Number, Photograph, Date of Birth, Exam Venue, Exam Date, and Timings, etc. will be printed on the Admit Card. Candidates need to carry the Admit Card along with a valid photo ID proof in person to appear for the entrance exam.

The steps involved in downloading JEECE 2019 Admit Card:

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on the ‘JEECE 2019 Admit Card’ tab.
  3. Enter login credentials.
  4. JEECE Admit Card 2019 will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Download, save and obtain multiple prints of the document for future use.

Please note that:

  • In case of any discrepancy printed on JEECE Admit Card, candidates should immediately contact the officials at JCECEB.
  • Candidates are advised to safely keep their admit card till the admission process is complete.

JEECE 2019 Exam Centers

Applicants can, during the application process, select their choice of exam center. The allocation of exam center is done by the JCECEB on the basis of candidates’ preferences. However, the authority’s decision in this regard is final and binding on all.

JEECE 2019 Exam Pattern

JEECE 2019 will be conducted in the offline mode in both English and Hindi language. There would be 3 sections in the exam: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics wherein the first two subjects will comprise Paper I and the 3rd subject will be covered in Paper II. Each subject will pose 50 objective-type questions, and candidates will be allotted 2 hours and 1 hour to complete Paper I and Paper II respectively. Questions asked would be of the intermediate level.

Candidates will have to mark their answers in OMR Response sheets. Each correct answer would be awarded +1 mark while each incorrect answer will attract a penalty of -0.25 mark. Unattended questions will not be evaluated.

JEECE 2019 Syllabus and Recommended Books

JEECE 2019 Syllabus comprises of three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, each subject carrying equal weightage of questions. The scope of the subjects will be that of CBSE Class 12 syllabus.

JEECE 2019 Result

JEECE 2019 Result is expected to be declared by JCECEB in May 2019. The result can be accessed and downloaded from the official website of JEECE. The steps involved in downloading the JEECE 2019 Results are:

  1. Visit the official website of JCECEB, www.jceceb.nic.in.
  2. Click the ‘JEECE 2019 Result’ tab.
  3. Enter login credentials.
  4. JEECE 2019 Result will be displayed on-screen.
  5. Download, save and obtain prints of the scorecard for further procedures.

Please note that there is no provision for rechecking/re-evaluation of the answer sheet under any circumstances.


JEECE 2019 Merit List

On the basis of candidates’ performance in JEECE 2019, a combined merit list, as well as a category-wise merit list, will be published by JCECEB. The merit lists will be used for seat allotment for admissions.

JCECEB has a pre-determined tie-breaking sequence for instances when two or more candidates secure the same ranking in the merit list:

  1. Candidate with the higher score in Mathematics gets preference. In case the tie persists, then,
  2. Candidate with higher Physics score gets preference. In case the tie persists, then,
  3. If the tie isn’t resolved then, the older candidate gets preference.
  4. If the tie is still not resolved, then, the name that is high up as per English alphabetical order, gets preference.

JEECE 2019 Cut Off

JEECE 2019 Cut off score is released on the official website post-results as per candidate category. The cut-off score acts as the decisive factor in the context of a candidate’s eligibility for admission. The rank list is prepared on the basis of the cut-off scores. The factors that will influence the determination of cut-off scores are:

  • Total number of applicants
  • The number of colleges participating in JEECE 2019
  • Total number of seats in the respective colleges
  • Categories & Reservation
  • Previous years’ cut-off trend
  • Difficulty level of the exam

JEECE 2019 Counselling

  • JEECE 2019 Counselling is expected to commence in June 2019 and will be conducted by JCECEB in 2 consecutive rounds. The counselling will be conducted in computerized distributed parallel/online mode, the detailed working of which will be available on the website prior to its commencement.
  • Candidates will be intimated about the counselling procedure based on their rank in the merit list.
  • The first round of counselling will start in June 2019 wherein candidates will be allowed to choose their preferred Institute and stream and allotment made on the basis of merit-cum-choice.
  • The second round of counselling will be organized if there are seats left vacant after the first round of counselling. It is expected to start in the 4th week of June 2019.
  • Candidates who were allotted seats in the first round will be able to reappear for the second round in case they wish to change their stream or institute.
  • Candidates will have to present all original certificates during the document verification process. Inability to present correct original documents will lead to cancellation of candidature.
  • Seat Allotment is subject to verification of all mandatory documents in original & prescribed formats.
  • Candidates need to pay the counselling fee to participate in the JEECE 2019 Counselling. The counselling fee details are tabulated below:
