You can combine the study of detailed topics with short ones suiting your interest. Devote more time to chapters having more weight-age. You should ideally complete the preparation before your board exams and keep the time board exams and VITEEE for revision.
VITEEE consists of 40 MCQs from Biology. Each question has four options having only ONE correct answer. Most students find this format of the exam better than subjective questions. It is recommended to solve as many of multiple-choice questions as possible. This will not only expose you to a large variety of questions but also improve your speed.
Since there is no negative marking in VITEEE, you should attempt as many questions as you can ie you shall try attempting all 40 questions in the Biology section. You will not be penalized in case your answer is wrong, so make sure you are making a wise second guess. A smart candidate will know how to make good use of this and hence, increase their chances of scoring well.
After completing a topic, you should try attempting questions asked in preceding year VITEEE exams from the same topic. It lets you assess your preparation. It definitely benefits you very much and gives an edge over others. According to VITEEE Exam Pattern and analysis, the previous year papers observed more questions from Cell Biology, Taxonomy, Reproduction, Ecology, Biomolecules, Biotechnology, Human and Plant Physiology.
If you think you have not read some parts of the chapter in the book, you can maintain a notebook wherein you can add notes. You can add important points you would like to go through at the time of revision. For instance, you can write the location of the cells of the human body, the taxonomic classification of important plants and animals or different types of diseases. In the end, you would just need to refer to your notebook to study those particular sections.
The units of Animalia and Plantae demand extensive preparation and can be time- consuming. One needs to refer to several books for studying these important topics. Enough emphasis should be laid on all the examples given in the NCERT along with the classification and taxonomy.
Use bright highlighters and symbols to mark important things such as classification, habitat, type of cells, etc. This helps in the retention of intricate details in lengthy paragraphs easier and longer and hence, assists you during revision. You can use pens of different colors to jot down little points here and there. It is a known fact the knowledge is retained better when it is associated with visuals.
VITEEE is an online entrance exam. The questions appear on the screen and you have to use the mouse to select the correct option. Focus on solving objective questions similar to the ones asked in the exam. For that, it is best to solve as many VITEEE Questions Papers as you can.
