GATE Exam: 5 Alternatives If You Expect a Disappointing Score

GATE is a much sought-after annual, postgraduate level entrance test conducted on a rotational basis by the IISc - Bangalore and the 7 IITs. The qualifiers are granted admission to M. Tech/ Ph. Most candidates aspire to either enroll for M. Tech at one of the IITs, or grab a secure job at a Government enterprise or PSU, or start a career as a lecturer or researcher by cracking GATE. Normally the cut-off scores demanded at the prestigious institutes for enrolling in M. Tech ranges from 22.5 to 31.6, varying for institutes as well as disciplines. Check GATE Cut offs

As the saying goes, if one gate does not open up for you, try opening other gates to explore further opportunities. The same stands true for you too in case your GATE 2019 paper did not go as planned and you are expecting a disappointing score. A low score in GATE and the misfortune of not being able to meet the cut-off scores of either the IITs or the PSUs should not spell doom for your career. AP PGECET Exam

Over 30,000 candidates register for the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on behalf of APSCHE. It is an annual, computer-based examination for admission into M.E. / M. Tech./ M. Pharma programs in the state of Andhra Pradesh. TS PGECET Exam

Telangana Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) is administered by Osmania University Hyderabad on behalf of TSCHE. About 40,000 candidates attempt this computer-based test each year to enroll in various regular PG programs such as M. E, M. Tech, M. Arch, M. Pharma in colleges across Telangana state. OJEE Exam

Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is a state-level exam conducted by OJEE Board for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate programs including M. Tech, M. Arch and M. Plan in the state of Odisha. The exam is held in both online and offline modes while the application process is online. TANCET Exam

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) qualifiers can seek admission into M.E./ M. Tech./ M. Arch./ M. Plan. programs among others, offered by colleges affiliated to Anna University, Tamil Nadu. Karnataka PGCET

Karnataka PGCET is convened by Karnataka Examination Authority annually for admission into M.Arch/ M. Tech/ M. E. programs offered by colleges in the state of Karnataka.
