NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
IIT Ropar took admission in M.tech programmes through GATE Score. It will publish notification for the M.Tech program in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Computer Science Engineering/Electrical Engineering on its website.
The application process for IIT Ropar will starts from month of March. Candidates were allowed to make a registration cum application by providing their GATE 2018 or GATE 2017/2016 score.
IIT Ropar GATE cutoff is the Closing Ranks. Through this you can evaluate the minimum rank you must get for the admission. Here Closing Rank will vary as per the courses and categories.

There are some differences in the eligibility criteria for admissions in various disciplines of MS and M.tech programs offered by IIT Ropar. The detailed eligibility criterion for each discipline is tabled below:

|Computer Science and Engineering||CS Engineering||Candidates with B.tech/B.E/M.S/MCA in Computer Science (CS) Engineering or related areas with valid GATE Score in Computer Science and IT. B.Tech students from IITs with CGPA more than 8.0 (7.5 for SC/ST category students) are eligible to apply without valid GATE score|
|Electrical Engineering||Power Engineering||Candidates with B.Tech/B.E or M.Sc in the appropriate area with valid GATE score in Electrical Engineering (EE) paper. About 70% weightage will be given to interview by the Departmental Selection Committee.|
|Center for Biomedical Engineering||Biomedical Engineering||A bachelor’s degree in engineering (BE/B.Tech), with a minimum of 60% marks (6.5 grade points on a scale of 10) and a valid GATE score. A minimum of 55% marks (6.0 grade points on a scale of 10) for SC/ST.|
Candidates would be selected on the basis of their GATE score. Shortlisted Candidates would be called for Interview round. Some candidates would be required to take a written a test in order to get themselves shortlisted for the interview round. The details about those who will have to take test and those who are shortlisted based on GATE score would be published in the form of a notification on the official website of IIT Ropar.
Candidates have to register themselves online by entering a preferred username and a valid email ID. A registration number would be provided post successful completion of registration process. Candidates would also receive a mail containing a validation link on their registered email ID. Candidates are required to click on this link in order to set the password which would be required to log in their registered account for making an application for the admission.
Candidates are required to follow the following steps in order to make a successful application for admission.
Candidates who are allotted a seat as per their choice or those candidates who are satisfied with the allotted choice would then have to proceed with the document verification process and admission formalities.
