Maharashtra Ayush PG Admission through AIAPGET 2017

Maharashtra state level counseling 2017 for admission to AYUSH PG courses has commenced. Admission to various Post Graduate courses in the field of Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani medicine in Maharashtra is to done on the basis of AIAPGET scores.

Government of Maharashtra has established ‘Admissions Regulatory Authority and State Common Entrance Test Cell’, which will control the admission process in the above mentioned courses. Candidates can register themselves at Application process has started from August 29, 2017.

About AIAPGET 2017

AIAPGET 2017, also known as All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test is a national level entrance exam being conducted by Ministry of AYUSH. The purpose of exam is to select candidates for admission in Post Graduate Courses being offered in the fields of Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, Siddha, Yoga and Naturopathy Medicine.

Any candidate looking to get admission in such courses in India has to appear in AIAPGET. This year, AIAPGET was held on August 6, 2017.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in AYUSH courses in Maharashtra

Admissions Regulatory Authority has set some defined eligibility points which a candidates needs to have in order to get admission in any courses under AIAPGET in Maharashtra. Mentioned below are the conditions that candidate needs to satisfy in order to get admission in AYUSH courses in Maharashtra:-

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • They should have a valid AIAPGET 2017 score, in respective principle.
  • Candidates must have an Under Graduate Degree attained from a recognized university/institution, in respective principle.
  • For Admission in Ayurveda courses, candidate must have scored 50% marks in AIAPGET 2017, if belonging to General Category, or 40% if belonging to other categories. General Candidate with Physical Disability need to have at least 45% marks in AIAPGET 2017.

Application form for AYUSH Courses in Maharashtra

Application forms for applying for AYUSH courses through AIAPGET in the state of Maharashtra have been made available as per the dates mentioned above. Candidates can follow the steps listed below to fill the application form for their desired course:-

  • Candidates first need to reach the website of Directorate of Ayush, Maharashtra, which is
  • From the homepage, Scroll down and candidates need to click on ‘Click Here for AIAPGET Admissions.’
  • After this, candidates need to click on ‘Click here for new registration.’
  • Candidates will now need to enter some basic details along with mobile number and email. After entering and submitting this data, candidates will receive their provisional registration number and password, which they will need to preserve.
  • After this, candidates may go on filling further details, and after they have entered all the details, candidates may click on ‘Final Submit’ button.
  • After this, candidates will need to make payment by clicking on the ‘Payment’ tab.
  • Application fees for counselling in INR 2000. Fee can only be paid through Challan drawn on any branch of State Bank of India. Candidates will need to download and print the challan from the website itself.
  • Candidates must take a print out of this form, as it will be needed in future processes.

Selection Procedure in AYUSH Courses in Maharashtra

Selection Procedure in AYUSH Courses in Maharashtra follows a definite procedure. Here are all the steps involved in the selection of a candidate for any course:-

  • Candidates will first need to apply for the course they want to.
  • After receiving all the forms, State CET cell will publish a merit list which will be solely based on AIAPGET 2017 marks.
  • Candidates will then need to verify their documents at the center as notified by State CET cell. Candidates will also need to fill their preferences for colleges.
  • After this step, First list of candidates to whom seats have been offered will be declared. Candidates can opt for college which they desire to get admission in.
  • If seats are left over, remaining candidates will be offered seats in subsequent rounds.

Candidates who are not satisfies with their allotment in first round, and are hoping for better colleges in subsequent rounds, will need to take care of the fact that they necessarily need to opt for college in the first round itself. After opting, they will still be considered for subsequent rounds and thus can change the college in later stage. However, if a candidates does not opt for any college as allotted to him/her in the first round, he/she shall be declared disqualified for further rounds, and thus will not be given admission anywhere in Maharashtra through AIAPGET 2017.

Documents required in Verification Process

It is important that candidates carry all the required documents while document verification to avoid any hassle. Here is the list of all the documents which need to be produced while document verification under AIAPGET 2017 in Maharashtra:-

  • Printout of Application Form filled for counselling
  • Proof of Nationality of Candidate (Passport, Domicile Certificate, School Leaving Certificate)
  • Photo ID proof of Candidate (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License, Voter ID)
  • Proof of Age (Class 10 certificate)
  • Detailed Marks Certificates of All 3 years of Graduation
