KCET 2018 Answer Key (Available), Question Paper & Analysis

KCET 2018 was successfully held on April 18 – 19. The difficulty level of the paper was moderate to difficult. Candidates who appeared for KCET 2018 entrance exam are informed that KCET Answer Keys are available here.     

Candidates can now access the  KCET 2018 answer key for Maths and Physics by coaching institutes like Resonance, Allen, BASE, Expert classes etc. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will release KCET answer key 2018 for all sets tentatively in first week of May 2018.

KCET 2018 Answer Key

Each subject has 16 different sets of question paper which were distinguished by codes as A1, A2, A3, A4, B1, B2, B3, B4, C1, C2, C3, C4, D1, D2, D3, D4. So, the candidates need to check the KCET question paper code before downloading the answer key and cross verifying for score. Various coaching institutes like Allen, Expert classes and Bosco tutorials have published the KCET 2018 answer key for all sets of the question paper after exam concluded on April 18 - 19.

Steps to Check KCET 2018 answer key -

  1. Visit the official website of KCET i.e. kea.kar.nic.in
  2. Locate the link on the right panel of the webpage “KCET 2018 answer key”
  3. Tap on that link.
  4. Enter required credentials i.e. candidate’s name and roll number.
  5. Click on ‘Submit’ button.
  6. KCET 2018 answer key will have displayed on your screen.
  7. Check and Download the answers with that to calculate KCET score.

How to challenge the KCET Answer Key 2018?

Students have the opportunity to challenge the KCET Answer Key 2018. Students who will not satisfied with the provisional answer key can challenge the answers printed on the answer key.

Candidates who have objections to the published answer key for KCET 2018 can raise objections within the given time. Generally, a time span of three to four days is given to candidates to raise their objections.

  • To raise objections, candidates must first gather the proof supporting their claim.
  • They must next mail this to the Director KEA, Bangalore.
  • They can do so through Email at keauthority-ka@nic.in or send the documents by speed post or hand it over in person.
  • Candidates must remember to put in a written request underlying their objections through email or other means as mentioned above.
  • They must mention their name, KCET 2018 Roll No and Address in the request and send it before the stipulated dates.
  • The committee will look into the objections and decide the course of action.
  • The decision of the KEA is final and binding.

How to Calculate KCET 2018 Marks?

Once the Karnataka CET 2018 conducts KCET 2018, answer keys will be released after the examination. Students who have appeared in the exam can check the keys and solutions to know which answers they have marked correctly and which incorrectly.

  • View the answer keys and check against your question paper.
  • +1 marks is given for each correct answer.
  • There is no negative mark for wrong answer.
  • 0 mark is given for multiple answers marked.
  • Thus, simply see how many answers you have marked correctly. That is your marks in the exam –

KCET 2018 Question Paper Analysis

KCET 2018 entrance test is quite popular among students and every year approximately 1, 85,418 candidates apply for the examination, where 1, 78,959 appear for it, out of which 125860 gets qualified, according to the official data. Analysis of all the KCET 2018 papers are elaborated further in this section.

KCET 2018 Mathematics & Biology Paper Analysis

  • KCET examination might be from easy to moderate, considering the previous years’ KCET mathematics and Biology question paper.
  • Biology as well as Mathematics papers will be conducted for 60 marks separately and the time granted to resolve each paper is 80 minutes.
  • The question papers for both the subjects will be objective type in 16 different versions where candidates will have 4 different options.
  • Each question will carry 1 mark and there will no choice among questions.

KCET 2018 Physics & ChemistryPaper Analysis

  • The difficulty level of the physics question paper might be quite high.
  • There could be few new and a bit confusing question types in the physics section for candidates.
  • Overall difficulty level of the chemistry subject could be moderate to slightly difficult as per the previous years’ question papers.
  • KCET physics and chemistry question papers will be conducted separately in two halves for 60 marks which should be resolved in 80 minutes of duration.
  • The questions in both the subjects will be objective type.
  • The question paper in mathematics and biology will be put before candidates in 16 different versions where each question will have 4 different options, out of which 1 will be the correct.
  • Each question in both KCET papers will carry 1 mark.

KCET 2018 Cut Off

Karnataka Examination Authority is responsible for releasing KCET 2018 cutoff for admissions of candidates to the affiliated institutions. It must be noted that the KCET cutoff 2018 will vary from different institute to institute as per candidates’ category. Cutoff is basically the closing rank where admission in a particular college, as per the branch and category shall be closed.

Factors that will affect KCET 2018 Cut off are listed below:

  • Total number of registrations in 2018 for KCET.
  • Candidate’s performance in the entrance test.
  • The level of difficulty of KCET 2018 question papers.
  • The total number of seats available on the state level.
  • Previous Years KCET 2018 cutoff trends.
