KCET 2019 Exam Pattern in Detail

KCET aspirants should study KCET Exam Pattern and syllabus carefully. Farm Science applicants need to appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology papers, while aspirants of Engineering and Technology courses need to take the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics papers. For Pharma programs, candidates need to appear for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology papers.

KCET 2019 will be conducted over two days, each day having two sessions or two papers each. On day 1 of KCET, test for Biology, and Mathematics papers will be scheduled, while on day 2, test Physics, and Chemistry papers will be scheduled. The question paper will be objective in nature, with each question having four different answers to choose from.

The answers will have to be marked on OMR response sheets with a blue or black ballpoint pen. Since the response sheets will be read by OMR machines to score each candidate’s answers, it is important that the marks are allotted in strict accordance with the instructions printed on the sheets. Torn or soiled response sheets and options not marked properly may lead to a lower score.

Each paper, i.e., Biology/Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry will have 60 MCQs, each carrying a score of 1 mark. So, each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark, while no marks will be deducted for an incorrect answer or for unanswered questions.

KCET 2019 Use of OMR sheet

KCET 2019 is an offline test. Examinees need to mark their answers on an OMR sheet. It is crucial that the following points are kept in mind while marking answers on the OMR sheet.

  • Examinees will be issued a 2-page OMR Sheet to mark their answers. Both the pages will have identical layout.
  • Instructions regarding appropriate technique to mark on the OMR sheet will be printed on the question paper and examinees must adhere to these instructions.
  • Examinees should not, under any circumstances, separate or unsettle the alignment of the two sheets.
  • The answers to the questions should be marked on Page 1 by darkening the appropriate circle of the corresponding question. For example, if the answer to question no 3 is option D, the examinee needs to darken the circle D against serial number 3 on the OMR sheet. All answers are required to be marked on Page 1 of the set.
  • Only Black Ball Point Pen needs to be used for darkening the circles.
  • At the end of the examination, Page 2 of the OMR set will be handed out to the examinees by the invigilator for the records.
