    KCET 2020 is conducted for the students seeking admission in various courses in different streams like Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, etc. The test will be conducted at 54 centers all over Karnataka. The application process for KCET closed on March 2, 2020. Candidates are expected to follow certain instructions on the day of examination and they should be familiar with KCET Exam Pattern to perform well in the test.

    Candidates who have applied for Medical and Farm Science courses are required to appear in Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers. For seeking admission to Engineering and Technology courses, candidates should appear in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics papers whereas candidates have to appear either in Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics papers for Pharmacy degree courses. For admission to MBBS/BDS courses, applicants are required to appear in NEET and aspirants of Architecture course have to appear in NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture).

    Exam Day Instructions

    There are certain rules and instructions which must be adhered to, on the day of KCET 2020 test. Candidates should keep the following points in mind while appearing for the test:

    1. Carry your KCET 2020 Admit Card to the test center. Entry without admit card will not be allowed in the examination hall. The following documents should be carried:

    However, candidates are not allowed to carry the following material inside the examination hall:

    • Do not carry any kind text material whether printed or handwritten in the exam centre.
    • Chits or any other material should not be carried in the examination centre except the admit card.
    • Candidates should NOT bring any calculators, log tables, electronic watches with embedded calculators, walkie-talkie sets, mobile phones or any such device in the test hall.
    • Use or possession of such devices even in the switched-off mode is strictly prohibited during the test and the candidate will be expelled if found using or possessing these devices.
    1. Preserve the admit card safely during the entire test as it can be checked anytime by the invigilator during the test.
    2. Candidates have to use black ballpoint pen only for marking answers/responses and for all other entries.
    3. Note that issue of KCET 2020 admit card is just for appearing in KCET 2020 and does not mean that the candidate is eligible for admission.
    4. Occupy the allotted seat in the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. Candidates arriving after half an hour of the reporting time will not be allowed to take the test.
    5. Candidates should enter all the particulars carefully on the answer sheet.
    6. Removal of any page(s) from the question paper is strictly prohibited. If any page(s) is/are found missing from the question paper, the candidate will be proceeded against and shall be liable for criminal action.

    Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall before the completion of test, and without handing over the Answer Sheet and question paper to the invigilator.

    How to fill OMR sheet

    Candidates should take care of the following instructions while filling KCET 2020 OMR Sheet:

    • Use Blue or Black Ball point pen only to shade answers and to fill other entries.
    • Mark the correct answer by completely shading only one circle against a question number.
    • Candidates are not supposed to make any stray marks on OMR sheet
    • For rough work, candidates have to use the space provided in the Question Booklet.
    • Carefully check the KCET number and Question Booklet Version Code / Serial Number before affixing your signature.
    • Affix your Left Hand Thumb Impression only, after completion of the test in the space provided in OMR sheet.

    KCET 2020 OMR sheet will contain the following details:                 

    1. Name of the candidate (To be filled in English capital letters)
    2. CET Number
    3. Question Booklet Serial Code/ Serial Number
    4. Left Hand thumb impression
    5. Candidate’s signature

    KCET 2017 Exam Pattern and Syllabus

    In KCET 2020 questions will be asked from Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Time duration for each paper is 70 minutes, however, extra time of 10 minutes will be given for reading and filling details. Each paper will be of 60 marks and all the questions will be of objective type. Candidates can refer to the following table to check maximum marks in each subject in KCET 2020.











    Mode of the KCET 2020 examination will be English only. Candidates should also be aware of the Marking Scheme of the test. For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and fortunately no negative marking is applicable in the test.     Candidates should be aware of the syllabus and focus on important sections to score well in Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2020. Candidates are supposed to carefully go through the prescribed syllabus by the exam conducting authority for KCET 2020. Equal weightage can be given to first and second year syllabus of PUC while preparing for the entrance test.

    KCET 2017 Preparation

    Candidates can keep the following points in mind while preparing for KCET 2020:

    • Make a timetable for the preparation of KCET 2020 .
    • Focus and give more time to important and difficult topics.
    • Always prepare notes which can come handy at the time of revision.
    • Do not forget to revise concepts from time to time as revision is very important to retain things from time.
    • Do not try to learn new concepts and techniques just few days before the examination.
    • Focus on what you have already learnt and revise them thoroughly.
