MHCET Medical Provisional Merit List Released

The directorate of Medical Education & Research, which is commonly known as DMER has recently come up with the release of provisional merit list. Medical aspirants who want to take admissions in medicaland dental courses can now check the same to attain admissions in private medical and dental institutesin the state of Maharashtra through MHCET. The merit list constitutes of Provisional Merit Score of the students along with All India NEET ranking of the candidates.

MHCET Result and Counselling MHCET Participating Colleges

NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test)took place in the month of July and the NEET Results were declared on August 17, 2016. The NEET Counselling process and NEET Seat Allotment dates have been released. Seven girls outnumbers three boys, while securing their ranking in top 10 ranks in All India NEET ranking. 

The merit list comprises of the following:

  1. Provisional Merit score of the candidate
  2. All India NEET ranking of medical aspirants
  3. NEET Roll Number
  4. Category of the candidates
  5. CET cell NEET online application number

How to download Provisional Merit List

Below are the steps, which will guide the candidate to download MHCET Provisional Merit list released by DMER.

  • Firstly, the candidate is required to visit the official website of DMER.
  • The second step requires you to visit the website, while clicking on 'Notification' section.
  • The candidate will be provided with an active link, which says, 'Provisional Merit List of NEET-UG-2016 for private unaided Medical and Dental Institution'
  • Then, the candidate is required to click on the link, after clicking which the aspirants will be directed to the page of merit list.
  • Now, you can have an access to merit list by saving the file in pdf format.

NEET or MHCET- The Confusion

Recently, the decision of considering NEET score for admissions in private medical colleges and deemed institutes of Maharashtra has cleared out the prevailing confusions of the medical aspirants living in Maharashtra. Of the 6,205 medical seats in Maharashtra, only 2,810 are in government colleges, admissions to which were done through MH CET scores. There are 3,395 seats — 1,720 in private colleges and 1,675 in deemed colleges — which will now be filled through NEET scores.

Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) & Common entrance test (CET) cell have collaboratively released the circulars carrying the information about considering NEET.

Admission Procedure Begins for MHCET Medical Courses

Maharashtra candidates can seek admission through MHCET in private medical and dental colleges by filling up the 'Preference form' released on the official website of DMER. This preference form will come along with the information brochure which will help the candidates on filling up the preference form correctly, giving a clear idea to the authority about the choice of colleges by students.

DMER is accepting the preference forms at four regional centers across Maharashtra, namely:

1. Grant Government College, Mumbai

2. B.J. Government Medical College, Pune

3. Government Medical College, Aurangabad

4. Government Medical College, Nagpur


Rules for Reporting at Regional Centres

Medical aspirants are advised to follow the guidelines related to reporting at Regional centres:

1. The candidates are required to carry their original documents and a set of photocopies at the time of reporting at respective regional centres.

2. The candidates should check the dates in accordance to their All India NEET ranking and report accordingly.

3. The counselling process will take place based on their ALL India NEET score and no other rank list will be considered for medical seats and dental seats.

4. Candidates are advised to reach early to their respective regional centres in order to avoid any hassle.

MH CET Medical/Dental Counselling

For MH CET medical counselling, there is a provision of Centralized Process Admission wherein students are called in for counseling and allocation of colleges based on the merit list prepared after determining their NEETscores in entrance examinations. The provisional merit list is displayed on the official website. The counseling takes place for the candidates who have qualified the entrance examination. The students are required to score marks more than or equal to the cutoff declared by the Maharashtra government.

The candidates who are called in for the counseling session are eligible for the further process. They are required to mark the choices of colleges and courses in the descending order of preference. It is mandatory to reach the counseling venue on the exact date and time allotted by the exam governing body in order to qualify your for final admission formalities. If a candidate is unable to reach for the counseling, he is marked as absent. Further, candidates are required to be physical present at the counseling venue for the MHCET seat allotment process.

Important Documents for MH-CET Counselling

Medical aspirants should be able to produce the following mandatory documents at the time of MHCET medical counselling for successful proceedings:

  • Nationality Certificate issued by District Magistrate/Addl. District Magistrate or Metropolitan Magistrate (Competent Authority for issue of such certificate)/valid Indian Passport
  • 12th standard or equivalent examination mark sheet
  • Photo ID proof School / College Identity Card, Identity Card/Adhar card/Admit Card (any one) and Mark sheet of MH CET Medical 2016
  • Domicile Certificate issued by District Magistrate/Metropolitan Magistrate/ Addl. District Magistrate or Tehsildar
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • 10th standard or equivalent examination certificate, school leaving certificate or Birth certificate indicating name of the candidate (for Date of Birth)
