IBPS SO 2017 Analysis, Question Paper & Answer Key

IBPS will release the answer key for the exam by the first week of January, 2018 on their official website. The exam is conducted for positions of IT, Agriculture, Law, HR, Rajbhasha and Marketing Officers for various private and public-sector banks. Check IBPS SO Cut off

IBPS SO 2017 is a national level entrance examination, conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) every year for recruiting candidates for the post of SO (Specialist Examination). The exam is conducted in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview. IBPS SO 2017 Prelims exam was successfully held on December 30th & 31st, 2017.


How to check IBPS SO 2017 Prelims Answer Key?

The answer key for the exam will be released by IBPS in the first week of January 2018. The answer key will contain all the correct answers to all the questions asked in the question paper. Students can check the answer key and get estimation about their score and can also challenge the answer key if their find an incorrect answer. By following the easy steps given below, students can download the answer key.

  • Go to the official website of IBPS i.e. ibps.in
  • Log in by using your application number and password generated at the time of registration.
  • Click on answer key notification and select “IBPS SO 2017 Prelims Exam Answer Key”.
  • Then, click on submit button and the Answer Key will be displayed.
  • Download the Answer key and match your answers with the provided answers for each question.
  • Take a print out for any future reference.

IBPS SO Prelims: Sectional Analysis

English Section

  • This section is common in all the officers’ exam and aims to test candidate’s vocabulary and Basic English skill.
  • The difficulty level of this section is between easy and moderate.
  • Total 50 questions are there in this section worth of total 25 marks (i.e. 0.5 marks is awarded for every correct answer).
  • Generally, people struggle in this section, as the questions are tricky, but with the right strategy you can ace this section.

General Awareness Section

  • This section will be a part of Law Officer & Rajbhasha Adhikari Paper only and aims at analyzing your general awareness about current affairs.
  • A total of 50 questions will be asked, where 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • General Awareness Section is considered to be difficult, as it has a vast syllabus and questions can be asked about anything around the world.

  • To ace this section, students are advised to develop a habit of reading on a daily basis, as it will improve your overall knowledge related to the section.

  • To crack this section, candidates are advised to have a great practice to solve questions quickly and accurately.
  • This section contains questions from general mathematics and one has to work on their speed to complete this section in time.

  • It has total 50 questions of maximum 50 marks, where 0.25 mark is deducted for every wrong choice.

  • This section is the most difficult section in both the papers, so students are advised to practice well for this section.

IBPS SO Prelims: Marking Scheme

  • Both the papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2) for Prelims will be conducted online.
  • There will be a total of 150 questions in both the papers.
  • One mark will be rewarded for every correct answer except English Language Section.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect choice. No negative marking will be done for questions which are left un-attempted.

IBPS SO Prelims: Expected Cut Off

The cut off marks are the minimum marks required to qualify the exam. The IBPS SO 2017 Prelims Exam is qualifying in nature, i.e. marks obtained in Prelims will not be added in final merit list. But in order to appear for IBPS SO 2017 Main Exam you have to secure the minimum cut off marks. The overall cut off for the exam is finalized on the basis of,
