Every year thousands of aspirants wait for the Railway Jobs Notification. They can fetch all the information about Current Railway Vacancies in RRB from here. Railway Recruitment Boards(RRB) has released notification for the vacancies of Assistant Loco Pilot Posts and Technicians under CEN 01/2018 recruitment. In the year 2018, Railways Recruitment Board or RRB will be recruiting to fill 26,502 vacancies for ALP and Technicians.

RRB ALP - Job Profile

Assistant Loco Pilot(ALP):

  • All the Assistant Loco Pilot helps the Loco Pilot in driving the train.
  • This job requires continuous attention and the high degree of dedication and responsiveness.
  • If you are selected for this post, you will have to assist the driver in performing the duties including calling out the signal as soon as one is sighted, looks after the fine-tuning Loco and attending minor repairs of the Loco.

Technicians:

  • A signal maintainer or a Technicians will have to work indoors as well as outdoors where the Railway signalling installations are available.
  • If you are selected for this post, you will have to maintain the block instruments and panels that are provided at the Station Houses, Points and Crossings provided at the outdoor where the rails are joined, Gate signals.
  • The work includes normal maintenance and attendance during any failure.

RRB ALP Recruitment - Eligibility Criteria

If you want to apply for the posts released by RRB in the recent notifications, it is essential to check the conditions set by the Railway Recruitment Board before applying for the posts, to be eligible for the examination.

For the post of Assistant Loco Pilot(ALP), you should be between 18 years to 25 years. You should also have passed out of 10th/Matriculation/ITI or other such relevant qualification from a recognised board or institution.

For the post of the technician, you should be between 18 years to 28 years, and you must have passed out of 12th/ITI or other such relevant qualification from a recognised board or institution.

Note: Age Relaxation will be available as per government rules


RRB ALP Recruitment - How to Apply?

RRB uses standard application form for all its examinations. Therefore, it is advisable to go through instructions given in the RRB notifications, read carefully the applying procedure in the notification and also follow the steps given below:

  1. First Visit the Official Website
  2. Click the Recruitment link
  3. Now Click on “Apply Online” button on the screen.
  4. Applicants have to find the suitable link related to the post for which they want to apply.
  5. Fill in all the personal details in Mandatory Fields.
  6. Now Click on Submit Button
  7. “Application Form is submitted successfully” message appears.
  8. Take a printout of the form on A-4 Size Page for future references.

Note: Candidates should read the official Notification for the Indian railway recruitment carefully before beginning with the Application process.

Application Fees

Candidates belonging to General and OBC category have to pay Rs.100 for the RRB Recruitment Form and for SC/ST/PWD Candidates Application form is free of cost.


RRB ALP Recruitment - Selection Procedure

RRB Recruitment Selection Procedure usually consists of:

  1. Online Written Test
  2. Skill Test
  3. Personal Interview (if any)

You will have to perform well in all the rounds and need to convince members of Railway Recruitment Board with your performance in order to get selected in the Indian Railways.
