NATIONAL LEVEL ONLINE TEST
The NIFT 2017 Exam was successfully conducted on February 12, 2017 in pen paper format. The Exam was conducted for various undergraduate and post graduate streams viz. B.Des., M.Des., B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech & M.F.M. Overall level of difficulty of the paper was slightly higher than previous years’ owing to tougher questions in each sections.
The Answer Key of NIFT 2017 is not released yet. The conducting body of NIFT 2017 will release the answer key soon on their official website. Same will be reflected on Collegedunia.com. Candidates are advised to regularly check for latest updates.
With change in NIFT Exam Pattern this year, the changed pattern aims at testing students’ expertise in drawing abilities, perspective sense, technical drawing, visualization and rendering abilities. The test takers had to work a bit more for scoring well in the exam.
The NIFT 2017 Answer Key will be released soon at nift.ac.in. The Answer Key released will help candidates calculate their probable NIFT 2017 Scores prior to the actual result. NIFT 2017 Answer Key will assist candidates in their strategy for upcoming stages of NIFT 2017.
With the NIFT 2017 Answer Key published and NIFT 2017 Scores calculated, candidates can refer to NIFT 2017 Cutoff. The NIFT Cutoff assists candidates in obtaining probable NIFT 2017 Rank and colleges they are likely to get at their obtained scores.
The NIFT 2017 Paper had three questions with a choice of three options in each question. The questions were designed to test candidates’ visualization and observation.
The second question tested candidates’ imagination through problems on illustration where the candidates were asked to colour print a T-shirt based on any one of the listed options:
The question asked needed the visual to make a statement on the T-shirt, like an expression by wearer to the cause, along with an interesting graphics with crisp personalised catchphrase, in absence of which it would look like a poster.
The third question, was a message through doodle, where the candidates were to express the contrast between mentioned pair of words via separate visuals in provided boxes. Out of the available options, only one was to be attempted:
The second paper of General Ability test (GAT) has undergone various changes in its pattern. It include total number of questions being cut down to 100 only for B.Des & 120 for M.Des. while retaining the same duration of 2 hours. For B.Des. course, the total questions were divided in 5 sections.
The paper for M.Des. had a few more questions across sections. The difficulty level of the paper was moderate. The Paper was designed keeping in mind the candidates’ approach and qualifying exam curriculum. The Maths section concentrated on testing the candidates’ calculation ability, reasoning, logical & their thinking abilities. The unseen Passages were not lengthy, though few claims that some question asked were incorrect. However, there has been no notice from the council.
The Management & Technology papers also retained the same pattern. The section comprised 150 questions for a duration of 180 minutes, with questions over Case Study, Business Domain, Quantitative, Comprehension, General English & Reasoning.
This year, NIFT 2017 Paper was quite balanced, in keeping with the prerequisites of NIFT and the shortlisted would be called for second stages viz. Situation test (for B.Des.) & GDPI (for MDes, MFTech & MFM), which would holds 20% weightage for former and 30% weightage for in the final merit list. However, the written ability test is the only qualifying level for BFTech course.
The NIFT 2017 Results are expected to be announced in the third week of March 2017. The Result will be followed by stage two. The Stage two exam will be conducted after the board examinations are over in between April, 2017 to May 2017. The Final result is expected around mid-May 2017 with the counselling scheduled for June 2017.
