CEED 2019 Counselling and Selection process

CEED Counselling process is designed to scrutinize candidates depending upon their aptitude for design. Those who qualify the exam will be shortlisted for counselling process and can check their counselling dates on the official website of CEED 2019. It is necessary for every candidate to take their original and photocopies of mandatory documents at the time of counselling otherwise they will not be considered eligible for admission. To appear in the counselling, qualified candidates must download the counselling call letter from the official website. 

This year, CEED exam is scheduled for January 19, 2019 in both online and offline mode. During the counselling process, the allotment of seats and branches will be done through online. The seats are allotted to the successful candidates based on CEED Score. The CEED score is valid for only one year after the declaration of result.

Those candidates who have attended the CEED exam must have to apply for Institutes in which they are interested in pursuing a Masters of Design Degree. Check HereCEED Participating Colleges  


CEED 2019 Counselling

The CEED counselling is attended by all the students according to the performance of the candidate in the CEED selection process. The CEED counselling requires the applicant to appear for the test and interview.

The candidate has to confirm his/her ranking before appearing for the CEED counselling. The candidate has to report to the CEED counselling centre by the counselling date. The candidate is allowed to fill his/her choices but will have to go through the CEED selection process.

Which documents to carry during CEED Counselling?

Candidates must keep handy the below mentioned documents when they appear for the CEED Counselling Process. Make sure you carry your original documents as well one set of their photocopy.

  1. Original copy of the CEED counselling letter and a photocopy of the same.
  2. Original and a copy of the CEED Admit Card.
  3. A copy of the bank draft as per the guidelines provided in the CEED prospectus.
  4. All the original documents and the photocopy of the documents. Two copies of the class 10th and 12th certificate.
  5. Rank card/ hall ticket.
  6. CEED score card
  7. Original /provisional copy of the degree.
  8. Reservation certificate for SC/T/OBC candidates.
  9. Medical fitness certificate
  10. 4-6 passport size photograph
  11. Any other document as asked by the authorities.

CEED 2019 Participating Colleges

Candidates have to apply to each of the participating institutes seperately. The CEED counselling will be carried out separately for each of the participating institutes. Every participating institute has its own written test/interview to check if the candidate is suitable to join the course offered by them or not. CEED exam has to be cleared if a candidate wishes to join the M.Des (Master of Design) course offered by the top IIT’s.

The CEED 2019 participating institutes are as follows:

  1. IISc Bangalore
  2. IIT Bombay
  3. IIT Delhi
  4. IIT Guwahati
  5. IIT Hyderabad
  6. IIT Kanpur

CEED 2019 Selection Procedure

Once a candidate successfully clear the counselling process, he will be selected based on the below stages. The CEED selection process can be summed up as follows:

  1. CEED score screening
  2. Design aptitude test
  3. Interviews

The detail of each of the step is as follows:

  1. CEED score screening: Every institute carries out this step. A lot of candidates apply using the apply using the application form. The candidates are scrutinized using the CEED score. The candidates with higher CEED score as required by the institute receive a call for the next level Design aptitude test.
  2. Design aptitude test: The design aptitude test is conducted separately by each of the participating institute. The test is common for all the students who have got the call after the CEED screening. The test result forms the basis for the last interview stage.
  3. Interview: The DAT scores are again arranged in the increasing order. The candidates who have secured more marks and have been able to clear the cut off are called for the interview. On this stage, only 10% of the candidates appear. Suppose the initial pool after DAT is 300 so only 30 students will be called for the interview.
