CEED Admit Card 2017 Released

    Candidates applying for CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) are informed that the CEED 2017 Admit Card is now available for download. It can be downloaded from December 29, 2016 to January 21, 2017 only. CEED Exam will be conducted on January 22, 2017. IIT Bombay has released the CEED admit card online on the official website of CEED 2017. Candidates will not receive the admit card through any other means.

    Examinees are supposed to carry the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the Exam center. Admit card is the most important document at the time of entrance exam thus, it needs to be preserved even after the exam is over. Applicants can easily download the CEED admit card from the official website and take its colored printout for future reference. 


    To appear in CEED 2017, candidates need to download the admit card which has all the information regarding the roll number, venue of exam center, timings and further instructions. candidates need follow the following steps to download the CEED 2017 Admit Card.

    1. Visit the official website for CEED.
    2. Open the ‘Log-in’ page.
    3. Enter the registered e-mail ID in the ‘Username’ field and the same ‘Password’ that was sent to the candidates after registration.
    4. Select the ‘Hall Ticket’ tab on the top.
    5. ‘Download’ and ‘Print’ the admit card.

    After downloading the admit card the candidates should check all the details mentioned on the admit card. If the candidates are unable to access their admit card or they find discrepancy in the details mentioned on the admit card, they should contact the helpline numbers provided for the redressal of the issues related with the admit card. The candidates can contact the following helpline number i.e. +91 22 2576 9093 from Monday to Friday between 9:30 – 17:30 hours.


    Candidates are required to bring some important documents along with the printout of the admit card to the Exam center. Following documents are required to be carried to the CEED:

    • Printout of CEED 2017 Admit Card.
    • Valid photo Identity Proof such as Voter ID, Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Driving License or College ID Card
    • Stationary items like pen, pencil, colors etc.


    During the CEED Registrations, candidates have to select their preferences for the exam center. They are required to choose three cities in the order of preference but during allotment the CEED 2017 Committee has the right to add or change an existing city. The candidate’s allotted exam center will be mentioned on the admit card.

    CEED 2017 will be conducted by IIT Bombay in the 19 cities. The names of the cities are mentioned in the table here:



    All the candidates need to follow the following instructions before and during the conduct examination:

    • Check all the details mentioned on the admit card like candidate’s name, photograph, signature, address of the exam center.
    • The reporting time of the CEED 2017 is 8:00 am at the exam venue. Candidate’s biometric information will be recorded before the commencement of exam.
    • Candidates should look for the seating arrangement displayed on the notice board and sit accordingly.
    • The candidates have to bring their own pencils, colors, sketch pens, poster colors and other drawing materials required for the exam.
    • Candidates will be provided drawing sheets at the exam center so they should not carry their own drawing sheets to the exam hall.
    • Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices etc. are not allowed in the exam hall. Usage of any such unfair means will lead to cancellation of examination.


    CEED is a joint entrance exam conducted every year for the selection of candidates applying for post graduate studies in the field of technological design. CEED Exam is hosted by the Industrial Design Centre, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and held jointly at the IITs and the IISc’s.

    The examination is an aptitude test. The candidates need to practice their visualizing, interpreting and drawing skills to perform well in the examination. It is descriptive in nature testing a student's logical, creative, analyzing, observational and drawing skills. The admission is made to various design courses in the field of Product Design, Industrial Design, Visual Communication, Animation Graphic, Vehicle Design and Mobility.

    The exam is divided in three parts. The questions are asked in PART A and Part B i.e. written examination and the third part is interview.
