Mass communication is the academic study comprising of the methods which aid the people in transmitting information by mass media. So the various fields in this branch include broadcasting of news by newspapers, television, movies and newspapers. Then the journalism, advertising, editing, film making are the various sub parts of the same. The students are required to appear in the entrance exam of the college where they want to apply for. There is also the Indian Institute of Mass Communication Exam which they need to appear for. The IIMC exams are for the PG Diploma course. In here the exams are held for Journalism, Radio and TV Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations and also the Odia Journalism. For the students to be eligible for admission in the program they are required to have had a degree in Bachelor. There is a written entrance examination in here. After the exam the students who qualify it need to appear in the Group Discussion or Interview or both of them. For the undergraduate courses there are certain colleges which provide admission on the basis of 12th class marks and there are others which execute a written exam, followed by the interview for them.

Lady Shree Ram College for Women, Delhi University offers B. A (Hons.) Journalism. It is a four years program. The college is known for its excellent interaction with mentors. In order for the students to get admission in the college the marks of the four subjects of class 12th are calculated and later the cut off list generated. In accordance with the 10th cut off list of the Undergraduate program for the SC group of candidate the admission got closed from 84-85% as for admission for the year 2014-2015.
