During the Covid 19 crisis, over 1.3 billion people of India are observing an unforeseen lockdown. In which many citizen have got stuck in various parts of the country. In a similar scenario. 56 resident of Perambulur, Tamil Nadu have been stuck in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. T Parivendhar, SRM University Chancellor and MP of Perambulur has taken cognizance of this matter and has made sincere effort to bring them back home.
The citizens who were in the mid of their pilgrimage got stuck amid the shutdown due to spread of coronavirus. After getting to know the situation of the people from his constituency,
Perambalur MP Dr.T.R Paarivendhar wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath and Tamil Chief Minister Edappi K. Palaniswami. In his letter, he urged them to ensure the security and safety of the 56 stranded people. He, infact, went on to called them up telephonically to seek clarity on their situation and told them not to panic.
Further, to assure their safety in a time of crisis, the Perambalur MP also provided Rs. One lakh twelve thousand (Rs. 1,12,000) from his personal fund to the Kasi Sri Kumara Swamy Mutt, to cover all of their expenses.As most of the stranded people are old and diabetic, he urged them to stay safe and assured them further help in case of emergency. This comes as a bold step and an act of responsibility where he gaurenteed the safet of his people.
Dr. Paarivendhar has also allocated 10 million INR to take care of the people of his constituency affected due to Coronavirus lockdown and infection.
