Annamalai University was established in the year 1929 as a unitary, teaching, and residential university. It established Directorate of Distance Education to provide various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Directorate of Distance Education has the largest enrolment in India.
The university offers 3 years B.B.A. (English and Tamil Medium) and B.B.A in Computer Applications (English Medium) under Directorate of Distance Education. It also conducts admission in Lateral Entry B.B.A Programmes in second and third year.
The academic year of B.B.A. of Distance Education is from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.

Candidates should be passed in 10+2/Pre-University Examination/Second year Foundation/2 years Diploma in Teacher Education / 3 years Diploma or an equivalent examination.

Lateral Entry Admission:
For Lateral Admission, candidates have to submit the attested copies of their Marks Statement, Transfer/ Migration Certificate, and the Regulations and Syllabi of the Degree Programme studied, along with the Application form for admission. After receiving the Admission Card, students should send the Original certificates and Demand Draft towards tuition fees.
