Jamia Millia Islamia To Conduct Online Exams, Scraps Offline Exams in July
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has declared to conduct the end semester examinations for final year students in the online mode.
The Standing Academic Council of JMI University decided to scrap the offline conduction of final year exams, following the guidelines of UGC. The decision is taken as the university believes it may compromise the well being of the students coming from different states.
JMI will conduct the practical exams remotely for such students. The University also provided different options to evaluate the students on the basis of assignments, dissertations, or viva.
According to the official circular, the university will not conduct face to face or open book exams for the rest of the students. However, the students in intermediate semesters will have to appear for the practical exams. To read the official circular Click Here
The official circular reads that no request for redressal/re-evaluation shall be admissible to students appearing in even semester/final year exams.
A special examination will be conducted for the students with backlogs, in September or October 2020. Students who are unable to appear for the exams can also appear in the special examination conducted later.
JMI has directed the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management to continue the online classes without vacation break till the course is satisfactorily over. The exam for the course will be conducted subsequently.
The teachers have been asked to upload the marks of the students on the University examination portal by June 20, 2020.
