November 09,2020: PM Modi will unveil the statue of one of the most admired spiritual leaders and intellectuals, Swami Vivekananda at JNU Campus on November 12 (Thursday) at 6:30 pm. The event will be streamed live at the official Jawaharlal Nehru University social media pages.
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will also grace the ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on November 12, 2020. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm, with a program about Swami Vivekananda and then move onto the unveiling ceremony.
M.Jagadesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JNU campus announced the news on his official official twitter adding,”JNU is delighted to announce that Honourable Prime Minister,Narendra Modi(via video conferencing) will unveil the life size statue of revered intellect and spiritual leader, Swami Vivekananda”.

Speaking about Swami Vivekanada, he further said “Swami Vivekananda is one of the most beloved intellectuals and spiritual leaders India has been fortunate to produce. He enthused the youth with his message of freedom, development, harmony and peace in India. He further added,”
The statue of Swami Vivekananda has been installed in the university campus with the support of JNU alumni.”
Earlier, onNovember 07, 2020, PM Modi had addressed IIT’s 51st Annual Convocation Ceremony.
During the ceremony he commended the students for their extraordinary performance,he stated “After all, you passed one of the toughest exams, the JEE!, and then you came to IIT.But two things will enhance your ability even more, one is flexibility and the other is humility”.
Prime Minister Modi had also attended IIT Guwahati’s convocation ceremony, held in September. He appreciated the efforts of the students and professors and added that the expansion of the thinking process has brought about transformational change.
