Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, on Tuesday launched an initiative ‘YUKTI 2.0’ to help systematically understand technologies having commercial potential and information related to incubated startups in higher education institutions.

Earlier, MHRD launched web portal YUKTI (Young India Combating COVID with Knowledge, Technology, and Innovation) on 11 April 2020.

The portal aims to cover the different dimensions of COVID-19 challenges in a comprehensive and holistic manner. With the help of this portal, MHRD will be able to ensure that students, researchers, and teachers in higher educational institutions are receiving appropriate support and assistance to meet the requirements needed for the advancement in technology and innovation.

While addressing the participants Pokhriyal said that YUKTI 2.0 is the logical extension of the earlier version of ‘YUKTI’, an initiative of MHRD, to identify ideas relevant in the COVID pandemic. Moreover, MHRD will also be releasing the outcomes of the earlier version of ‘YUKTI’ soon.

Initiatives like YUKTI 2.0 play a significant role in fostering the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in our academic institutions. This initiative also serves the mission of making India ‘Atmanirbhar.’

MHRD has invited students, faculty members, startups, and other stakeholders of higher education institutions to register on the YUKTI portal and share their technologies and innovations.

As per the vision of MHRD, the portal will prove to be a milestone for innovation and entrepreneurship in the higher education system.
