The preference is always given to BITS Goa as it belongs to the most reputed family of BITS institute. One of my friends has studied there and he loves the campus from all aspects. The major reasons as to why BITS Goa is to be preferred are: Scope CSE has more job opportunities in the market as compared to other branches of engineering.  If you even go for a core organization in the chemical field; the highest package is not more than 6 LPA.  In the case of CSE, if you are into coding a good package can be cracked. The highest package is close to 1.40 crore in BITS Goa. The average also stands at a decent place.  The prominent recruiters are - ADM Argo, Adobe, Bajaj Auto, Capgemini, CGI, Cisco, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Razor Pay, Reliance Jio, Freshworks and Goldman Sachs. Faculty The computer science faculty cannot be compared with chemical engineering.  CS faculty is amazing having well-equipped knowledge in the field to deal with real competition. They all are efficient in imparting real practical skill set to their students in a proper manner. Being an IITian, I can say most of my batch mates chose to opt for IITs mostly Mumbai or Roorkee, above the rest. One of my seniors chose to study at IIT Patna. It is a good institute and ranks #26 on the NIRF ranking portal.  As for a comparison you'd like to read the following points: Faculty- IIT Patna has a better faculty than ISM Dhanbad and most of the faculty members have PhDs and Dr. Pushpak Bhattacharya is the director there from the CSE dept. which has the best faculty at IIT Patna. He was amongst the 'Top 10 Machine Learning(NLP) Researchers in India'. which is well deserved by a man of his stature.  Infrastructure- As far as the departmental infrastructure is concerned, IIT Patna's CSE department has excellent facilities but equally good is ISM's Mech Department. The general infrastructure includes two hostels for boys and girls; a gymnasium; games rooms; a sports ground for football, basketball, etc. But ISM Dhanbad doesn't lag behind in this as well- it is built on 218 acres of land, has 2 auditoriums, 1 open-air theatre, swimming pool, and multiple eateries. Alumni Network- ISM is an old institute whereas IIT Patna is a new one. Hence, ISM definitely has a stronger and denser alumni base than IIT Patna. My friend enrolled in the CSE program at IIIT Delhi and it was a great decision so far. He got a JEE rank below 2000 and in truth, there were very few students with this rank in IIIT Delhi. Most of them had ranks below 5000. IIIT Delhi is a good institution with a rank of #56 on the NIRF rating scale and IIT Patna ranks #26 on the same. Here are some points to be considered: IIIT Delhi is not only better ranked, but also has better faculty, curriculum, and research facilities. Many students get selected by the GSoC too, IIIT Delhi has a high number of GSoCers. If compared to NSIT, IIT shines brighter. However, some of the NSITians get through one of the toughest exams in India i.e.Google APAC, which not many IITians from Delhi have cracked. All IITs in general have excellent technologies available and most of the learning is done through the internet. A degree from any IIT would benefit you if you'd apply for higher studies in MS, Ph.D., or an MBA.  It has good summer internship opportunities as well. One of my friends was a student of this institute, but he did not know about the 5 years dual degree program in IIEST Shibpur. He told me that no one even knows about this new university's dual degree course; thereby, if you love to get risks, then take admission to enter here. Besides, he told me that he was also unaware of the reputation along with the education quality of the other two institutes. However, in IIEST Shibpur, you will get immense learning opportunities; additionally, education quality is also not bad as it is an ancient institute. Rather it improves a lot after becoming INI. It is challenging to state which institute is better if the student doesn’t know the institute properly. Besides, it is also important to understand what is actually better as the thinking of a student. However, you are from outside of West Bengal, then IIIT Gwalior must be the first priority, although IIEST Shibpur is a reputed institute. The faculties of IIEST Shibpur are experienced enough, but most of them are Bengali. So, preference will be given to students from West Bengal, as the home state would be a great advantage. Between these comparisons, NIT Jamshedpur is far better than IIEST Shibpur. However, the considerations can be made for the following facts: Faculty Research Quality Parameters As per MHRD Rankings, NIT Jamshedpur is ahead of IIEST Shibpur. Thus, there is something mapping considering the oldness of an institute with its goodness. If this fact is true, then many colleges would be better rather the best than the renowned IITs.
