RAMGARH ENGINEERING COLLEGE - JHARKHAND

7.0 /10

Remarks :

Positive remark is that it is good for study in Jharkhand and in low price. However there is a currnet issue of affiliation between the college and the University which is causing some problem in conducting of exams in college. But I hope it will be resolved soon. However , the old University is changed with the JHARKHAND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY this year.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course and curriculum is quite good. Exams are of two types - 1 Internals 2 Externals Internal exams are counducted by college itself twice a semester. It is of 25 marks each. Marks scored are converted into equivalent marks to base 20 and this mark is added to the external marks. External exams are counducted by the affiliating University once a semester. This is of 80 marks and rest 20 is from the internals. Beside this a practical exam of 50 marks is conducted in each semester.

Placement Experience :

It's just horrible. 5-10 students gets placed in each batch. The salary to them is also so scarce for livelihood. There was no internship in my times but I got some information of some private firm internship without any payment.

College Events :

So many thing are celebrated in my college- 1 Annual sports competition. 2 Techfiesta - The tech fest. 3 Uddharsha - The cultural fest 4 karma Puja 5 Vishwakarma Puja 6 Saraswati puja 7 Holi meet 8 New year's Eve party

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It's both because my college is a public-private partnership institute it has both kind of seats- 1.Paid - costing about 80,000/year 2. Free- costing about 15000/year For free seat you have to score good in the entrance exams because seats are limited in this category.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is no loan facility from the college. However, you can get it by your own. Some scholarships of state government are available for economically backward students. Which go through a state controlled routine and process.

Campus Life :

Fests and sports events are organised every year for extracurricular activities. These are the good sources. Labs are good but could be better. Library is also available but there are limited books.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel is quite good. It costs about 15000/year. And 5000 refundable security deposit too. You will be provided with a bed , a cubboard, a table , a chair and matrices. There will be 3 students in each room. There are separate hostel for both girls and boys & separate hostel for each years. There are common bathrooms in each corner of the hostels each corner has 3 bathroom and 3toilets in each corner so 12bathrooms and 12 toilets on each floor. There is the facility of mess too in this floor.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is one official alumni network i.e, the REC STUDENTS PORTAL which is not so good in functioning till now. But you can find some FB pages and insta account of colllege where u can contact with the members of the college.

Admission :

I have written the entrance exam (JCECE -D2D)conducted by the state govt. And on the basis of marks scored I was called for concilling where I need to choose a college where seats are available and then got admission to the college.

Faculty :

Faculty of my college were just good. But beside their classes one cannot find any kind of support from them. But within their classes u can ask them questions they might answer your question if they know the answer. But now a days the quality of the teachers are improving.

Students are eligible for placements from the 6th semester. Several companies like Tata Steel, Axis Bank etc visit the campus. The placement number is quite good for CSE, IT, CHEMICAL and EEE branches. I plan for an industrial job.

Placement Experience :

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. The best company came to our college last time was "Go Speedy Go" and given 35,000/- at startup of the highest package, that company selected 7 students from our college out of 25. Percentage of placement is not much i.e. less than 50%. Big companies do not prefer to come here, but many small companies took the students from here. My plan is to try for GATE exam first, from that I can achieve PSU level jobs.

Because of the Tag BIT Mesra a well known private college. I have enough marks in Jermain to get a well known private college. so I choose BIT. I hoped that it will give my dreams a wing. Good packages new ideas to develop myself. To get a better future I had chosen BIT.

Placement Experience :

College send us mail for internship. Rest we have to do all processes ourselves. They don't provide any direct internships. Placement is also not so good. Only CSE department students are placed of maximum 15lakh yearly package.

Remarks :

Positive remark of my college is that it's infrastructure and faculty are quite good. Library is just like book store. No place to sit and read in library. Nothing is fascinable outside hostel. No competitive as well as friends-like environment. It's due to big campus with less students.
