UPES, Dehradun
UPES
REMARKS
UPES is overall is a ‘good’ college but if someone is getting other good private law college, I’ll suggest them to take admission there. The overall experience in the college till now if quote promising. The college has a good ambience, just a little pricey.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
Fees Structure is quite expensive but seeking to the value output it is worthwhile. Mine overall expensive was around 10 lakhs including hostel and academic. I would like to add that the hostel fees here are also very high due to the number of students getting admissions. It is close to 1.25 lac per year and the fees are about 1.5 lac per semester. So you are looking at about 3 lacs per year plus other expenses like books food, too and from.
PLACEMENT WING
Placement opportunities provided for our courses are quite better than the placements provided for the students of other streams. The highest package offered here was about 20 LPA, ad it was more than enough for freshers in this new generation unless you are highly ambitious. The average package offered was around 5 LPA.
ADMISSION
UPES conduct their own exam for the admission of the students. It is divided into three main categories i.e. school of engineering, school of law and school of business. The exam which I have given was ULSAT. UPES also gives admission on the basis of CLAT ranks.
HOSTEL FACILITIES
The best part of college is that it offers a good environment. The place was very good. Infrastructure is also a good part. It gives positive energy on the campus. It has everything that the students generally need in their college. From the library to classrooms, everything is fine.
ALUMNI
Yes the alumni network is very strong in this college they have a regular alumni meet as well to promote the interaction between seniors and current students. Also the senior at their end are very helpful they provide their best of knowledge and experience to their junior.
FACULTY
The college provides you with many opportunities to take part in extracurricular activities. However, it's on the students how they react with the time and place and how they involve and take part in it. Faculty members are new with less experience but with great knowledge. All are graduated from NLUs.
CAMPUS LIFE
UPES has provided me great learning platform which helped me a lot in the industry where I am working right now. We had various kind of seminar and workshops for our specialized courses. the campus has a volleyball court, football ground, gym, badminton court and a basketball court.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
At UPES they have a separate body for conducting exam which is called SRE. The SRE is responsible for all the activities in related to the examination. At MBA there is only one end semester exam and at graduation level they have mid semester as well as end semester exams. Passing criteria is 40% individually i.e, 50 marks e?from exam and 50 from internal evaluation. The course curriculum in this college is moderately updated curriculum is revised every year as per the UGC. But as far as i feel that the case study which are being taught in the curriculum are bit out dated so their solutions are also quite outdated which i personal feels is a negative remark.
COLLEGE EVENTS
UPES has various clubs that organize event and competitions on the regular term. Apart from all, it has its flagship fest organized timely. UURJA and Marcon and various field events UURJA, the annual youth festival of UPES, is one of the many celebratory activities and events that are regularly held at the university. Students from several institutions become a part of these events every year with a ton of pomp and splendor, stressing the fact that these activities are an integral part of the learning process at UPES.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
There is a scholarship offered by the college but only to the top 5 students who have scored highest marks in the entrance exam of UPES MET or by any other MBA entrance exam. Also they provide good loan facility for the students by almost all the famous banks.
