A COLLEGE WITH DECENT PLACEMENT

  • 7.7/10Ratings

    REMARKS

Negative remarks first : There is almost no practical knowledge given. The implementation of what we study is also important but its not done here. Now positive: The faculty focusses on personality development and will support in any cause. The placements are good.

  • FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES

The fee structure is the best of all the private colleges (in my opinion). If we see the placement and fee structure ratio then its a pretty good college. So the fee structure is almost feasible for everyone

    PLACEMENT WING

The placements here are good and that was the main reason why I got enrolled to this college. Skill development is the priority here. From conducting training and placement programs to personality development, every thing is covered. I'm unaware of the internships but there are opportunities.

  • ADMISSION

It was a direct admission. You just have to fill an admission form , that's it. There's also an entrance exam conducted by PTU through which you can enroll. PTU is the university to which this college is affiliated.

  • ALUMNI

There are alumni meets conducted by the college hence the network is good. Seniors are very helpful , they are enthusiastic about projects and will definitely support you in any project or academics.

    FACULTY

The faculty is good and encouraging. But they lack in terms of practical knowledge. I won't say that all of them are alike. Basically, the faculty focuses on placement criteria. They are helping when it comes to placements.

    CAMPUS LIFE

The labs are good and the software is updated. The network connection is good. Many opportunities for sports as there are 2 grounds ( well not that big as expected). There's a basketball court and cricket practice net , volleyball court and indoor badminton court and table tennis court

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

The course curriculum is decided by PTU. Exams are easy to pass. PTU has recently updated their syllabus for different courses and made it course oriented. Even a thorough study through the syllabus will get you a decent SGPA

    COLLEGE EVENTS

There are various events including cultural and technical. There is an yearly fest which is conducted around November with cultural and technical events in it. Apart from that there is science day , quizzes, seminars, etc.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

There are various scholarships available for students including the ones given by central government and state governments. The is a special scholarship fir J n K students. There is no scholarship provided by the college on its own.

Excellent College Life At TIET

Placement -

The placements of Thapar are decent, but there is a bit of decline from 2020 onwards. Still, they are far better than many private Engg. colleges of India. Here you will easily get an average package of 6-7LPA. Also, Those hefty packages of 50LPA are mostly grabbed by the IEP (International Engg. Programme ) students but the B.E. students also get these Dream Packages. The Highest domestic package will be around 35 to 40LPA. But you have to work very hard as the competition is very high. If you are taking admission after 2020 you will have to work hard to grab a decent placement as the number of seats has been increased. But you will surely get placed if you do the right amount of hard w...

Placement -

After 2nd sem students can apply in different companies for placements. Highest package have gone to like 18 lacks per annum and average package varies between 4-5 lacks. Accordingly getting placed depends on the students but as far as i know almost all the students get placed. After getting my degree I’ll be applying in different companies to get a perfect job.

More and more students should be encouraged for entrepreneurship and business. IIT community are always holding our back for support which is one of the biggest reason for a success of an student from any IIT.

It was nice college. College faculty was best and cooperative but the admin block faculty are too rude as only have their profit from the money and they only take care for them only not the student personal feelings.
