IIT BHILAI REVIEW
This is our transit campus so infrastructure is disappointment and the mess food is bad. Except this, it is a good college with well equipped instruments and it's ready to teach students. It has health centre in it to make sure students remain healthy and fit.
FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
As it is government college, so fee is feasible. You need to submit it before semester starts. Fees is also varied from student to student based on their family income and their caste. For e. g. Fees is approx 3 lakhs for general category student. For those whose family income is between 1-5 lakhs and OBC candidates it is around 160000. And those whose family income is less than 1 lakh and SC/ST candidates it is around 100000.
This is our first year of placements but they are going very well. There is outreach team which make sure that every student gets internship opportunity. As I am first year student, I have still not got internship but I am working as a management head in a startup which is initiated by our college.
I have cleared JEE Advance exam and as IIT is reputed college in India, I chose this one. JEE mains exam is given by approx a Million people out of which only 12-13 thousand are selected. I have secured 7237 rank in JEE Advance exam.
Hostels are nice. 3 student live in one room. There are few bigger rooms which can occupy 4-5 students. Cleaning staff comes daily to clean rooms and toilets. Food quality is average or maybe low. It is rubbed by private company which is on contract based.
Senior students are the best of this college. There is no ragging at all and they are ready to help us anytime. They encourage us to participate in extracurricular activities and help us if we are in any problem.
Faculties are well qualified. Everyone of them has done PhD from reputed colleges of India. They have achieved a lot and many have successfully done research in their respective field to put it on paper.
Gender ratio is bad. It is 5:1. Workshops are regularly conducted by others organizations and even by our college clubs like electromos, epsilon, swara, pixel snappers and many more. There is equality based on gender, race, religion etc.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
Course structure is very flexible. You can choose the courses which you like. Research activities are encouraged. Every semester has 3 exams which doesn't make it a burden. Lab and exams are regularly going but it is chilled.
We have our Techno cultural fest Meraz every year which includes events of Technical and cultural part and whole college takes part in it. We have our annual sports event 'prayatna' which goes on for 2-3 month. Our college also has internal Hackathon 'pragti' where many problem statements are given which we need to solve.
LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS
Yes, when we came new, PNB Bank gave option for loan opting which was hassle free. They just required our identity proof and our JEE marksheet. Return of the loan will be after 4 years when we are placed in a good company.
