As such there are no negative remarks for my College. The positives are that the faculties herein and their teaching are too good. You can get to do research in various fields as per your interest. The College thus is one of India's best College for Microbiology and Biotechnology studies.
The course/syllabus designed here is good enough to qualify an entrance exam such as NET. There is semester system and you have to give internal and external exam. You have 3 days of your week for therory classes and the other 3 for practicals.
The College doesn't give 100% placement assurance. Though few companies do visit here like Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Sun Pharma, etc. The College doesn't provide internship. After your masters degree you can get a starting salary around 25k.
Various events are celebrated in our department. We regularly have guest lectures from various institutions/ companies/ alumi. Most of the festivals are also celebrated here. There are also various cultural events organised by various departments.
The fee structure herein is feasible as well as expensive. For a student in regular quota the fee is around 8-10k per year. Whereas for a student in high pay quota it is around 46k per year. The high pay fees can be paid semester wise as well.
Frankly speaking I don't have idea about the scholarship offered by the College. Though the rank holders yearly do get some sort of scholarship. The university also grants scholarship known as DSW Scholarship.
Being a master's degree student you do not get much time to engage in other extra curricular activities. Then too if ones manages he/she can get enrolled in various sports activities which are held the Pavilion.
The seniors herein are quite helpful. They are very cooperative and you won't even feel that there is something such as senior-junior relation. The alumni network herein is also good enough. We do have on a regular basis guest lectures by various alumni.
I got admission to this College via entrance examination. Around 700 candidates applied for the M. sc microbiology course entrance exam that was conducted itself at the University. Few days later the merit list was declared and the students were called in for the admission procedures.
The faculty of the College are all well qualified and educated for their posts. All of them do have a Doctorate degree and many of them have post doc degree as well. The faculties also have interesting research field which you can work upon in your desertation.
From the last semester, the student becomes eligible for the campus placement. And sometimes it started when the 3rd year is starting. Alambic, Parul and many more I think I saw the 10 to 15 company visited and they offered the job to a student. 70% of students getting placements in our college. My plans are after getting a degree is do higher study in my field I want to do further study in the nutrition field and do part time job and lecture in our college along with my studies. And I advise everyone to don't close your studies with a degree do masters and further study
I got the admissions based on my scores in the entrance exams the college conducted and also the marks I obtained in my previous degree. The admission process is very transparent, I managed to get good marks in both hence I got the desired course.
There are no options for placements in this college for M.Sc as far as I know, but there are placements opportunities for us, many pharmaceutical companies come here for recruitment, the salary is good. For PhD students the amount of stipend is Rs. 8000 here.
I had first applied to the college by filling the application form present on the college website then we were asked to submit the marks scored in the bachelor's degree then we were called for an interview.
We have many renowned companies offering the students internship, the first two months the stipend is not given but on the basis of the students performance the stipend amount is given.
I have already written everything I know and I feel good or bad for my college above. But a positive remark is that environment is very good, it is my fifth year in this college and I haven't seen any ragging conducted by the students. And the negative remark would be the politics, student's are focusing more on the political activity than on studies and encouraging students from outside of the college to enter the college premises. Strict checking of ID cards should be conducted each and every day and if a student is caught without an ID card strict actions must be taken.
Our college is very good. It provides best education and practical knowledge of the subjects and faculty and students are also very helpful to all. Canteen has good food and placements are also good. You find many more things to enjoy here and college has a lush green campus.
