The infrastructure does look good on the outside, it's not good from the inside, the toilets stink, the projectors don't work properly, the act doesn't work properly, rude canteen staff, bad canteen food, the times taken to serve the food by the canteen is a lot, they change timings of the lecture ( from 1 hour to 1. 5 hours) without any notice and the water quality in the water coolers is very bad. People have fallen sick after drinking it. Last sem my accounts teacher was sent on an IV with the seniors just 10 days before my exam. The portion wasn't even completed and they had the audacity to tell us to do it as self study. There are people who travel 2-3 hours to come to college and all they do is teach from the PPT which they have picked up from the net or show us videos, which is a waste of resources according to me as this can be done at home also
The course curriculum is not good. The reason I say so is because I have taken operations as my specilization and yet I have to study financial management and human resource management which doesn't pertain to my specialization. The exam scenario is good. The teachers are all very student friendly bar a few and the exam process is conducted smoothly. Though the current exam comittee head doesn't know that something's are meant to be kept private
I haven't yet had the opportunity to get an internship or a placement from the college as I am still in my second semester but from what I have heard, the average package is very low and the quality of the placements isn't up to the mark
We have one common college festival called alegria. This is a very huge festival and it's one of Navi Mumbai's biggest festivals. Though they normally get very famous people for the event. This time, I think due to the global slowdown, they have been hit financially and hence are getting people who are relatively unknown to most people for eg armaan malik, Kenny Sebastian and dj shaan. We also have club events like operations club events, hr club events etc
It's pretty reasonable. 2 lakhs per year for my course for the open category. You can also apply for a scholarship if needed due to which you will get your money back every month. The only criteria is that you need to have a valid income certificate showing you have a family income of less than 8 lakhs per annum and need to have atleast 80% attendace
You can get a scholarship from the government provided your family income is less than 8 lakhs per annum and have an attendance of 80%. The college doesn't give loan but it has a tie up with syndicate bank to give children education loans
The extracurricular activities are pretty good. They gave proper equipments for many kind of sports like rifle shooting, archery etc. As far as activities are concerned I have written above about the specific club activities. The labs are all fully equipped state of the art labs. There might be atleast 10-15 labs in the college
The seniors are extremely helpful and easily approachable but they are highly biased. They give preference to people they know before hand when they have to select people for clubs like the social service club etc etc
I had to fill the online portal made by the government and based on my preference and my entrance exam marks I was alotted a college. One can add up to 4 colleges and change the preference of the same.
Almost all the faculties are very student friendly and highly qualified. They are very interested in teaching the students and make sure that the students understand what's taught. The students are also allowed to approach the faculty after lecture hours to ask them a doubt. Though one faculty member seems to be highly qualified but I think his degrees are fake or he must have gotten them due to reservation. One can understand it on your own if one ever interacts with him.
Actually, it's not an engineering or commerce college, it's a medical college. So after the final year, students prepare for PG entrance. They get selected in various branches and do specialization in it. And later they start working in a govt hospital or private hospital or may open their own clinics/hospital. But it's sure that in private you will get preference if you tell you are a student of BJGMC Pune. My plan after my degree is the same do specialization and work in a hospital or make my own
The college has its own placement cell and from 6th-semester students become eligible for placement .A lot of companies visit this college every year including google and Infosys. but many students prefer for masters after under graduation and You will surely get a job after under graduation also.
1. The college idls famous 2. Reference from alumni 3. Exposure since college is in a big city like Mumbai 4. There are many research institutes near college 5. Fests in college, both related to curricular and cultural
There is a placement cell in college that takes care of tje placements. Students who register with the placement cell get notified about any hiring that happens.
I was interested in Biomedical Engineering and this was the only college in Mumbai with said course. The field helps me stay in a sector where I get to help people while working with products that aim to better people's lifestyle. The thing I like the most about my college are the people. They're all easy to get along with and there's quite a lot to learn from all of them. With our college being autonomous from this year, our course has improved giving us more space to think out of the box.
The companies that visit for my branch include Capgemini, Siemens and JP Morgan among others. I'm not aware of the profile offered. All the students that sit for placements get placed. However, most students opt for a postgraduate education. Our alumni networking is quite good.
I chose to go to a large college because I like being part of a diverse student body. The world is a big place, and I thought attending a big school would better prepare me for life in the real world. " "My college has a very strong school of sciences, and I wanted to study under the best minds in the country.
Every year different companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Megafine, etc. hire many candidates. The highest salary package offer by this company is 6 lac per annum for fresher. The average salary offer by this company is 2 lac per annum for fresher.
Great for management, great for college Campuse, great for principal, good for faculty
I completed my LLB from Dr Ambedkar College of Law. The experience and intellect I gained from here were very helpful to me in my career forward. I enjoyed and have quite fun in college hosted events and had good academics throughout the year with the support of teachers and batch mates.
