FEE STRUCTURE AND FACILITIES
The entire 2-year course would cost you around 23 lacs, which is not feasible at all. That's why I decided even before starting the coaching, that I will be taking a student loan. Even this expensive fee would sound reasonable when you leave the college with a best-in-the-industry package.
Being a premium management institute of the country, a number of companies line up to recruit students from the college. IIMA has recorded the highest package of 72 LPA, whereas during my batch the highest package was 40 LPA. Numbers for average package stands somewhere around 22 LPA. Companies that visit the campus, are top brands from different sectors. Some of the frequent recruiters from the college are KPMG, Accenture, Barclays, PWC, ITC, Axis, JP Morgan, etc.
If IIM is the flagship institution in the management domain, IIM - Ahmedabad is the flagship institute of the IIM group. They have one of the most rigorous selection criteria amongst all of the B-Schools in India. Not to mention IIMA is the organizing body of the most prestigious management exam, CAT. Along with CAT exam scores, they allocate weightage to multiple factors like academic performance, diversity factors, performance in GDPI, work experience, etc. I took coaching from TIMES institute, where they helped me prepare for all these sessions. The only thing, I had to work upon was the confidence factor. The rest went pretty smoothly.
The Alumni network is one of the best in the industry. Many industry leaders are alumni of IIM-A and many of them visited the campus during my batch. They shared their career journey and the role played by IIM itself in shaping their career. Our placement cell maintains a close bond with the alumni, which helps in bringing better placement opportunities.
We have some of the most experienced pool of Faculty teaching us and catering to our queries. They were more mentors rather than just being regular faculty members. They all were management graduates and has experience of more than 10 years in the corporate. They were very much accommodating and we bonded with them, pretty nicely.
COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The course curriculum was pretty great and informative. IIMA has such a rapport that it prescribes curriculum for many IIMs and non-IIMs. Majorly, the curriculum is divided into 4 semesters with the final two semesters focusing on the specialization part, while the first two semesters were aimed at providing a holistic view to the general manager. We learned a lot from the curriculum, and that too from a practical perspective.
Numerous committees take up the responsibilities of organizing different events. For instance, the marketing club usually organizes numerous activities related to the marketing domain in order to poke the creative side of the students. Overall the students take up to themselves to organize different cultural events and festive celebrations where the Garba Night was my favorite, celebrated during the Navratri season.
