Yes, I have opted for hostel. The students are basically accomodated in the hostels. Hostel rooms are sufficient for all the students. Facilities like LAN services, water coolers, fans, tables, etc. are provided to the students.

Yes, I have got admission in this college. I opted for the course electronics and instrumentation engineering. The institute is in my home state. As I am a homesick person, I chose this institute for travel convenience. The admissions take place after JEE MAINS and JEE ADVANCED results are declared. The admission depends on the rank secured by the students.
The faculty of NIT Silchar is highly qualified. The lecturer and student ratio is satisfactory. The lecturers also hold industry-experience as well as certification. They are well versed in their domain and provide good education to the students. They are also very helpful as they help us to prepare for exams like GATE.
At the end of the 6th semester, Companies starts coming to our campus for JOBS. last year Amazon, Wipro, TCS and many others companies visited our campus. The average package in CSE was 13Lpa. The highest package in CSE was 56lpa. About 93 % of students were placed and the rest went for higher studies. I planned on getting a job and not doing more studies.

AEC is probably the best engineering college in Assam after IIT Guwahati and NIT Silchar. This college will be good for you if you have messed up your JEE exams and if you are planning to get a job in PSUs. NRL, OIL, ONGC, AGCL and many PSUs visit AEC during the placement time and offer good packages.
To get in AEC, you will have to give CEE exam of Assam, in which if your rank is somewhere near 500-600, you will get in. And if you want branches like CSE, Mechanical etc, then you have to get a rank of from 1-200.

Positive - only the faculties. Negative - no infrastructure. No fund. No nothing. No auditorium. Really low fund even for college fest. No time for extra curriculum. No proper placement. The college do not have a proper boundary too. However the college is trying to expand and hence may be that is the reason. I don't know what the plans are.
