    REMARKS

I liked most of the things in my college. However, I still feel the rooms can be improved, even the labs.

  • ENTRANCE PREVIEW

I did not have to go through any interview process. I got admission based on my marks. I loved the concept of advertising as many in my family belong to that field. And that is the best college in the city to offer so.

    PLACEMENT WING

Placement & job opportunities were very limited. I was expecting more from them, however, it was limited to only 2 companies that too for sales and customer care field.

  • ALUMNI

We had very few interaction with the senior classes. But most of the times they had been really helpful. It needs to form a better alumni association. I am not sure how it works now.

    FACULTY

The Faculty included full time lecturers as well as stalwarts from the media world. They were always willing to help us, and often made us experience how things work in their respective offices.

  • EXAM STRUCTURE

The exam structure is as per the Calcutta University standards as the college is an affiliated one. I found the exam to be too theoretical and text book based.

    COURSE CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

The course curriculum was a mix of lot of learning , field experiences and working with advertising agencies and media houses as intern. We had to learn Psychology and Economics and some creative advertising aspect as well.

    INTERNSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES

The experience was really nice as I had a chance to work with one of the biggest agencies in Kolkata, and really grateful to them as they made me work with them for one of their biggest campaigns till date. There was no stipend involved but the experience itself had been extraordinary.

    COLLEGE EVENTS

There were very few college events that took place. Nothing was constricted to only one department. All students came forward and arranged events. However we used to take part in events at other colleges.

  • LOAN/ SCHOLARSHIP PROVISIONS

There was no scholarship as such but they had special fee structure for needy student. I know some students who were eligible for the same.

My golden days at MSIT.

Remarks -

I have gained a lot from this college in the short span of two years. So all I have a very good impression about this college. The College management was very active and honest in their duties. The institute has an anti-ragging committee to ensure that there will be no such incident happen to innocent newly admitted student by the seniors. Regarding the improvement opportunities, I would like to say that the college should invest more in strengthening the Faculty base and their retention policy and improve the hostel facility.

I have taken MAT (Management Aptitude Test) as an entrance exam to get admitted to Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology (MSIT) Kolkata for 2 years MBA course. I have secured 72 rank in the exam. The exam comprised of numerical and verbal aptitude type questions, data interpretation, logical reasoning etc. I have opted this college because it is a reputed one for MBA and it located near to my home.

An amazing experience I will be carrying with me for the rest of my life.

Remarks -

Overall, IISWBM is a great place to do your MBA from. Its affordable and the placements are decent for the price you are paying. Plus a Calcutta Universe Degree has a lot of value so its a worthy addition to our CV. The faculty is rich in knowledge and deadlines are followed. Regular seminars break the monotony of class lessons and provide field knowledge. The active cultural and events committee provides for a really great learning, enjoyable and interactive environment.

After quitting my job at Coimbatore, I signed up for CAT '16. Scoring a percentile of 70, decided to fill up the form of IISWBM as it was one of the least expensive but renowned colleges in Kolkata. Cracked the interview for MBA-Day which consisted of a case study and a personal interview and i was all set.
