Kristu jayanti college is a very good college with no doubt in it. The infrastructure of the college is huge. We have a main block for all the UG courses and a PG block for all the masters courses and a admin block for the law students. Our college also provides the law courses and it is known as Kristu Jayanti college of law.
The course is awesome. Exam are conducted in a very structural and organized way. The teachers and the management, everybody is very punctual without any delay. The exams are conducted as scheduled months ago without any delay.
Placement overall is good but if you talk particularly about mechanical it's bad. Students of CS/IT has huge placements in mass recruiters in companies like Deloitte/ZS/Infosys. Maximum from these branches get placed. Minimum placement is of Mechanical and Biotech. No core company of Mechanical visit in the college. Few from mechanical get placed in IT firms. There are internship programs. We have a fine lab of DIC funded by MhrD for interns.
The technical events are Baja, Efficycle, Efficars and few more. These events are held at moderate level. There are many cultural events which are organised by the clubs of the college. Clubs get involved with Student by their own events at regular intervals of two-three weeks. Goonj is the biggest annual cultural fest of UIET.
The fees is feasible. We have a financial administrator who takes care of the finance related things. We have a option of paying half of the annual fees and pay the remaining within the date given by the financial administrator. For the BCA course. The annual fees excluding the exam fees is 60, 000 INR.
Our college provides scholarship for the students without any partiality. The only criteria for availing the scholarship amount is the students must be having well scored marks as well as good attendance percentage. Along with it, the income certificate of the family is to be provided for availing the scholarship amount.
We had a jayantian extension Services which consists of NCC( national cadet corps) and the nss( national service scheme) and the csa ( center for social activities) which help the students in being a responsible and a good citizen of the country. We also have ethnic day once in a year. On that day all the students wear their ethnic wear and represent their ethnicity of their place.
Our college organises alumni gathering for the entrepreneurship related talks and develop new ideas. Some of the alumni are invited as judges for few events happening in the college by seeing their capability and their enthusiasm towards being very capable in whatever they're doing.
I gave engineering entrance exam back in 2015 and managed to get rank under seventy thousand. According to my rank the best I could get was UIET, a deemed department of Panjab University. I applied for 5 colleges under PU which took students who qualified JEE Mains examination through JOSHA counseling. There were 4 rounds of counseling based on quota. First round was done based on caste and income. Second round was done for other categories students like defence, SGC, J&K migrants, FF and few more. Third and fourth round was for the upgradation of branch and college. I got mechanical in the 2nd round which continued till 4th round. Verification of documents was done at the end of 2nd and 4th counseling.
The faculty was quite average if you leave a few. The teachers were more concerned about the absentees instead of focusing on those present in the class. Most of them will scare students of their short attendance throughout semester. They will make you copy all the old stuffs copied in their notes they keep with themselves. If you leave a few and look from others to response to your doubts, you won't get one.
The students will be eligible for campus placement in the third year there will be one year internship. I don't any much about that because I am still in 1st sem. Above 70% of students will be eligible to get placements. I will write some government exams.
For the 5th semester, students become eligible for campus placement Cerner, Wipro, Accenture, thought focus is companies that visited 3.25 lakhs as an average package The students should have 90+ percentage After getting a degree to do a job for one year after that MCA.
3rd-semester students become eligible for campus placements. Thought focus, Wipro, Accenture. These are the companies which came to our college. One of the highest offer made was 10.5 per annum. Placements are good in our college. We get more opportunities in college.
Overall, Jain University is a nice college but the feedback system is of no use there, they just take the feedback but dont consider it at all.
Admissions happen at the time of March-June. I saw the list of best colleges in Bangalore and Jain University was the 2nd top University for BCA course which formed a good image in my mind about the college. Though the admission process starts with an online form which takes 1500 INR fees and then student have to give an entrance exam which is JET, if the student passes in that exam then a personal interview happens at the same day then the rest of fee submission takes place which is 1, 47, 000 INR for BCA (MACT specialisation) course.
There is nothing that positive to be exclaimed about this college, There are negative things about the college and these are not good for the students who wish to study here. Being a former student of this college I've learnt things by myself taking courses externally and securing a job.
The only remark I would like to give is the college is out of the city (2 km) and there is a traffic police station on the way. So you have to be careful with a vehicle on the road so that you don't end up paying a huge amount of fine to the officer.
