The college is well managed but the only problem is with the placement department everyone is spending 12+ lakhs but not getting job Is a very big problem. I am in the 4th year without any job. So definitely the placement department needs to give opportunity to all the students.
There are basically 2 courses 1. B. Tech Marine Engineering - 4years 2. Bsc Nautical - 3years Both gives a astonishing opportunity to get job in merchant navy. The fees are quite high as this is a marine based college,so for me the fees was 12lakhs + for 4 years including hostel, mess, laundry.
Placement is really bad here. This is the part this college lacks behind. This is the most important part but unfortunately the college has not overcome this situation.

Firstly cleared the IMU entrance and then College entrance exam, then interview and finally need to be in top 200. The IMU ENTRANCE exam is a bit hard, but then the process is easy. Definitely not every single person come to this field, as the person needs to have discipline within him/her.
Faculty are well trained and mostly from Marine background with extra knowledge in the subject. So basically we are getting better knowledge as the faculty have already experienced sailing and thus can guide us easily for our career and helps in any difficulty we have.
I choose the college as it was under the MIT group of Institutions. Another reason was the college has become autonomous. Along with that the level.of exposure the college provides the students is international.
