They need to install streetlights till the new hostel building as it does get creepy and we did have few accidents during the night time. They need to change the girls hostel main gate security from old men to really young guy men who can actually run after goons when they harass or catcall the girls.
It is very basic as it’s jus the foundation year going on but it does take a lot of time and energy and patience. The exam structure is like any other design college. We have jury’s to present our work to and then we have two written papers: communication and design&culture studies.
Well I’m just a first year student but the placements and internships given are on a high standard basis. Such as PD seniors have gotten into ISRO .IKEA and many such brand names. It all depends on how good and worthy your design portfolio sums upto.
There are many events that are celebrated in our college like college day, some of the competation for the college day celebration also the national festivals like indipence day etc. Even some of the other festivals
Its quite expensive. Our tuition fee is 2 lakh. The hostel for triple sharing is for 70k The mess food card is for 65k which includes breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner For localites there’s a bus transport by college which ranges from 15k to 30k depending on how far do they live. And apart from this Yes,we designers gave to purchase every little single thing from the stationery which is quite draining on the wallet.
I did apply for a scholarship which gives full scholarship to the top 20 or 50 students and takes us out for summer exchange. I have no idea about the Loans or anything. We do have a student loan but I never looked into it.
Every month or so we have a football, basketball and badminton competitions. We have girls teams and boys team in every sport. There’s no such gender biases on the ground and in the class room. UID manages to get many high profile personalities to talk about their life and achievements to inspire us. We recently had a YOUTH PARLIAMENT session where many celebrities and politicians had come to attend. They keep getting TEDx speakers and professors from all across the globe. Our campus is open to every student and it’s quite good to see that every one here minds their own business.
The hostel infrastructure is pretty good. Just the fact that they don’t allow us to stick much on the wall or do anything is quite frustrating. The rooms aren’t that big but we manage. We have to pay for the AC bill separately. There are many options such as single sharing, double sharing and triple sharing. The intime is pretty late considering all other college around here have the intime around 9:30 or so where as we have our intime at 11. But if we are even a minute or two late the warden makes us call our parents, then we gotta pay 500 as a fine and write an apology letter to her that we will be careful about time henceforth. Nothing of this sort is applicable for the boys. And that fucking infuriates the hell out of me. At 11:15 the security didi comes in ever room to see if all of us are in our rooms or not and if we haven’t signed in the register she calls us down. If we gotta go for night out then mom dad have to mail them,I gotta remove a print, submit it to the warden, then she calls my mom or dad to cross check and then only can I go for night outs. And it’s not allowed if you’ll be late past 11. You won’t be allowed in the hostel even if your parents have given you the permission. We can only stay out the entire night but can’t come in the middle of the night. AGAINST THE BLOODY RULES.
Before I joined this college I spoke to many seniors and faculties. It did help me in making my mind clear about this college. I wasn’t too sure about shifting to Gujarat but when I learnt that this college is in top 4 for product design and it’s actually great I didn’t hesitate once. The alumni is pretty active. Lots of help from the seniors. There is no bullying as such.
I gave my entrance before the boards. When the results came out I realised I got in and had to select two dates for my personal text and interview round after the boards. It was not that easy to crack it but I somehow managed to crack i god knows how. I did get in other 4 colleges but product design in this college is in the top 4 list in India so I didn’t wanna sway my chance away.
The faculty is quite qualified and makes us realise the potential every person has. We have different faculties for different for different departments. The faculty here is not just the lecturers and professors.they quite well vibe in with the student groups and behave more like adult to adult. As in they treat us like we are equivalent and there’s no such biased behaviour.
The campus. When I entered there to give the exam i felt at home. The students I interacted with also felt very interesting and i understood of how much I could learn by being there.also the teachers were very experienced and approachable
I really don't know but i gave talked with the seniors and they gave quite positive reviews and how it depends mostly on your portfolio and skills to get where you want.i totally believe that
I'm a person with much interest in fashion and design. After 12th, the main course that grabbed my attention was Bachelor of Design and thus I joined Anant National University. Admission was based on the marks obtained in 10+2 or any equivalent examination.
There are placements and internships offered by the College. For our course, there is no internship or placement opportunity. But students gain job soon after completing the course because of the demand the course have.
iNIFD Ahmedabad is one of the best and an advanced Interior Design and Fashion Design Institute in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. I am a student of this Institute. to get an admission in this college I had to qualify 10 + 2 from a recognised board. I cleared the written entrance exam for INIFD admissions and then I appear for a Studio Test round which usually is conducted in the month of April/ May. I got my results of admissions in the month of May, every year.
As this is an international Institute it offers the best placements. Highly reputed companies hire students from our Institute because they are sculpted in a refined way. Companies like Lakme, Virtuasa and Kx - Connect hire students from our college. I was selected by Virtuasa company and worked there for few months.
College education system is good but little hectic But manageable. Be safe from the mosquitoes because students get dengue and worse fever so the only thing is that and else everything is great there.
There are a lot of pros and cons about NID, which the pros includes, it has the best faculties from the india, better facilities, campus is really great it has lot of trees and birds, good wifi with a great internet speed, placements are good. And cons includes, some dipartament has less number of faculties, food from mess can be made better.
College infrastructure is so much good. Social life is so much good which helps you to socialize easily and safely. Academic's is good with friendly and knowledgeable faculties which help you to gain better understanding of every project. Senior's are friendly and helpful. Food is hygienic and good.
The college is the very example of what 60+ years of experience of culture and knowledge would result in. Nid is a very respectable college and very prestigious.
