Remembering those days bring nostalgia to me. Coping through the regular completion of assignments and projects kept us occupied always. The systematic conduct of exams helped us stay in touch with the subject and helped us to analyze our faults simultaneously. The curriculum was a mix of the theoretical and practical aspect. The college always tried to give us the required exposure in the industry.
The students were placed in high profile hotels like the Taj Group of hotels, Oberois Group etc. There were internship programs also available, which helped us to have real-life experience of working with senior employees in the hotels. The college left no stone unturned in letting us explore the vast possibilities and opportunities of the corporate world. Almost all students from our batch were selected during the campus placements only by reputed companies.
The fee structure at AIHTM is quite feasible, especially considering the quality of education provided. The three-year course charged me around INR 1lakh, which was lesser than other competing colleges. However, the fee structure keeps on changing every year. So for the latest details, the students can always trust the college website.
The extracurricular activities like sports, arts, music etc. were an integral part of our daily routine as we all enjoyed it a lot. The college conducted several events and ensured maximum participation from the students. Be it the cultural events or the industrial visits; I don’t think my college life at AIHTM did not include any factor. Also, the frequency of these events was excellent, which made our college days very memorable and enjoyable.
The senior students were always eager to help us out whether in studies or dealing with our daily life problems. There are no such activities like ragging. All the students shared a loving bond and seniors were more like guides. The college also conducted alumni meets so that the alums could guide the current students about the latest happenings in the industry.
I passed out of AIHTM as a successful professional in the hospitality industry.Being a part of this institution turned out to be my dream life. I got to know about the entrance criteria through my mentor, who was aware of my interest in the field of tourism. From the beginning of the preparations until getting selected, he guided me continuously. The admission procedure was easy going for everyone as compared to other colleges which burden you with a vast list of documentation and formalities; this was an asset for us.
The experienced faculty-guided us in the best possible manner. I miss their scolding as today I understood that it was just for our better future. Our professors used to be very particular towards the completion of the assigned works and duties; this taught us the importance of punctuality as well. It would not have been possible for me to reach where I am today without the persistent guidance from the experienced faculty members at AIHTM.
