A good institute for overall development but the management should not impose fine on the students without any reason.
As far as the course curriculum is concerned, the faculties are much helpful in delivering the knowledge to the students. They provide their best in knowledge and help in providing every information regarding various workshops, industry driven Camps and much more which further helps in gaining industry- specific knowledge and securing on-campus placements.
The placement of the college is poor for the Mechanical engineering and civil engineering course. Various companies visit the campus for the placement drive but most of the companies come for CSE and BPOs and RPOs. The placement for the other streams like management and diploma holders is quite good and the placement of the college is about >70%. The institution provide various programs for the final year students to help prepare them for placement season.
Every year National level technical fest 'NAVDHARA' and national level cultural fest takes place in the college. In the technical fest, various teams come to the campus to participate in the working project competition and the cash prize is awarded to the winners. In the cultural fest, celebrity nights are being held for 2 nights, each night different celebrity and the students enjoy it to the fullest.
For the 4 year course in Mechanical engineering graduation the academic fee is 55000 rs. per semester and for the diploma holders of lateral entry the fee is about 38000 rs. per semester which is much feasible as compared to other colleges. But there is no transparency in fee submission. You have to submit the fee before the given date otherwise fine of rs. 100 per day is imposed on the students.
Yes the college offer scholarships for the students with high percentage in their 12th and 10th marks and it can be upto 100% scholarship. And the scholarship is also provided for the minority students from the government, like SC, ST and OBC students.
The campus Life is full of joy and happiness. The gender ratio in the campus is quite impressive as 80/100. Most Saturdays, the DJ night takes place which makes the students forget the stresses and enjoy fully. The workshops in the college have appropriate machines and instruments which help the students to learn easily. There is much diversity in the college campus as there are people also from other states all over India and other countries too. But most importantly all are helpful towards each other regardless of caste and religion.
The seniors are helpful in the college and even after they passout from the college they provide various information regarding vacancies in the company and recruitment.
I took the admission in the college from Haldwani office without any merit or examination. I was much keen and passionate about Mechanical engineering and so I looked at this institution due to the less academic fee as compared to other colleges. The admission start from the month of June by the JEE marks or direct admission from the offices available in all over India in every state.
There are separate faculties for each subject in the course but most of them are new to the teaching field but they provide their best in teaching to students. Before coming to the teaching field every faculty has industry experience and certifications which help in providing industrial knowledge to us.
I am currently in my 2nd year going to 3rd year so I cannot answer any of these questions. The highest package was 45 LPA last year and the average is I think 10 LPA. Some company names are Microsoft, Xebia, Dell, Infosys, etc. 100 percent of students were placed in Computer science branch last year. My plans after getting the degree are to do M-Tech.
The students become eligible for campus placements after the 6th semester. Xebia, IBM are some of the companies that have ties with UPES and come for placements every year. Adobe, Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro are few other names that visited for placements. The highest package ranges to around 18-24 LPA. 98% of students get placed according to the university. For now, I am planning to secure a good job after the degree.
As the university has one of the greatest placements throughout the country in the petroleum field so I opted for the following course. The Teacher to student ratio is 9:1; teachers are helpful for academics as well as professional things. Most of the facility holds the degree of the doctorate in their field and also has great work experiences in their field. Exams are conducted two times in a semester and the rest are internals which is conducted throughout the semester. If students focus on what teachers teach in classes and can easily pass the semester examinations.
From the 6th semester onwards students became eligible for placements. Lots of well-known companies have visited college like tata, Infosys, Panasonic, etc. The highest packages are 15 to 16 lacs. About 70% of students are placed. I also want to be placed at a good company.
8th SEM students are eligible for placement.I don't have an idea for the highest package. On average 70%. Give gate exam and take admission any good college for master degree. In this college more company comes for placement.
I would hate to tell you that the biggest negative here I found till now is the chairman of this college who is an old hittler. Every person (including faculty and students) hates and fears him the most. I would guide you to stay away from him as much as possible otherwise other things/persons are good.
